I watched the Warriors-Clippers game tonight and really liked what Pietrus did (15 points, 6-12 shooting, 12 rebs). He was aggressive on the boards and played pretty tough defense. They don't involve him in the offense much, but he knocked down a couple open shots and had a few nice drives to the basket when he did have the ball. I'd easily take him over Antoine Wright at this point.

On the Warriors game thread there seems to be a belief that Pietrus makes a ton of stupid plays. However, he's only had 1 game this season with over 2 turnovers and averages .71 a game. Compare that to Stackhouse with 11 3 turnover games and 1.5 per game. He does need to work on staying out of foul trouble, but at least he's aggresive.

Maggette was pretty good other than bricking a bunch of free throws. He can get to the basket about 5 times better than anyone on our team. His defense does kind of suck though.

Stupid plays could mean anything, most of which doesn't reflect on turnovers alone. Missed rotations, unearthly shot selection, standing out of bounds when asking for the ball, inability to comprehend plays, missing freethrows, laughing at mistakes, etc. all of which are inherent in Pietrus.

And comparing his turnovers to Stack is ludicrous. The ball is rarely in his hands compared to Stack who Avery, in one of his many idiotic schemes, uses as a point forward and a centerpiece for isolations.

But as I said many times before, I'm all for signing Pietrus since at best, it would help us get a Ricky Rubio and something new to whine about. Instead of 2 threads about Dirk being soft, 4 threads about Howard's tunnel vision, and 5 threads about the Jason Kidd deal we'll have 14 threads wanting to sacrifice Pietrus to the gods in exchange for hepatitis.
