Deng has an extremely good midrange jumper, in fact he was hitting them at such a high clip prior to this year that he had some people say he had the best midrange jump shot in the NBA.
They are similar players, and even have very similar efficiency.
Aldridge - 48.4 FG%, 3.9 FTA/game, 1.164 pps, 48.4 eFG% , 76.2 FT%
Deng - 47.9 FG%, 4.2 FTA/game, 1.194 pps, 48.3 eFG%, 77.0 FT%

I agree that they are similar in the efficiency, but that has absolutely no correlation that they are similar players. One is a PF and the other is SF and the only thing they have in common is a good midrange jumper. Also comparing two players in college and then taking that comparison and applying it to the NBA generally does not work very well.
Aldridge is a perfect compliment to Greg Oden when he comes back next year and it would have to take a ridiculously good deal to pry him away. Deng may be the better overall player, but Aldridge is a key part of the foundation that is being laid for years to come.
