OT: Is Boston having the greatest sports year ever?

Red Sox - World Series Title
Patriots - 18-1 and super Bowl runner up
Celtics on cusp of Finals and best record in the league
Bruins made the playoffs

Has any other city ever had this much success over a calendar year?

Not that I can think of. Its great to be a Boston fan right now, even though I think the Lakers will beat them in the Finals

Unless the Celtics win the title I don't think you can really put Boston up there as having the greatest single year every. If they do then i think you could argue they've had the best stretch.

Many times the same city has had two major championship teams in the same year and I think that trumps a champ and a couple of runner-ups.

Lakers-Dodgers
Steelers-Pirates
Red-Sox Patriots

Those are all ones I remember seeing since I've been watching sports.
