Another trade idea to send Jho and Stack away...

Post#1 » by GermanFan120 » Mon Jul 7, 2008 7:46 pm

JHo+Stack+EJones for Lee+Curry+Quentin ?

Do not get me wrong, I love Mavs and I used to love JHo and Stack a lot, but by having them going to next season, it will not make the Mavs any different as last year.. I'd rather take the risk for the change to send them away, i have to...

I was actually about to post a trade idea and it involved the Knicks so I'll throw it on here as well

Terry
Howard
Dampier
Stackhouse

for

Marbury
Crawford
Curry

Not sure if the Knicks go for adding all that salary on but as far as why the Mavs do it. They get a pretty good back up PG with a huge expiring contract along with Kidd's expiring. Crawford is a pretty good shooter and everyone knows we need one of those. Curry in my opinion is an upgrade to Dampier especially in the scoring department and you have Diop to fill in for Curry's weakness

I know it totally changes this team and makes us pretty weak at the SF position but with the cap space we open up with Marbury's and Kidd's expiring it should put us in pretty good shape. Curious to see how killed I'll get on this one especially by JES lol !

but if we send away stack and josh we need an upgrade in SF or SG

with dirk, bass, gana and damp frontline is ok.

There is absolutley no concievable trade with NY that I would like unless we go into all out rebuild mode. And trust me, I've tried all possibilities.

And I don't like the trades in this thread at all.

Curry and Randolph are #4 and #5 of players I NEVER want to see in a Mavs uniform.

Marbury would have to make top 15 somewhere. And Crawford is closer to Hughes and Stackhouse than he is Terry when it comes to bricks and dumbass, ill-advised shots.

No Thanks!! There is nothing on the Knicks roster that I would give away Josh Howard for, NOTHING.

I think I would take Curry over Damp at least he will provide some points in the paint and to me that is huge. Besides Terry which would be involved in this deal Crawford would be a better shooter than anyone we currently have excluding Dirk, plus he has size.

Marbury is a nut but as a back up and just a rent a player to get cap relief I'd do it. Just being realistic not that this trade would set them over the top either but this team currently constructed is not winning it all, it cant even get out of the first round. Lets not forget either that Knicks team was about a poorly coached as the NBA has ever seen so I dont think the talent is as bad as it seems. Never the less back to the drawing board. I am determined to find a trade that helps us and everyone likes and oh yeah is realistic ! 8-)

In order to do that, you would have to stop giving away Howard for trash.

Me thinks someone has overated our show up in the first half but do little to nothing in the second half Josh Howard. Regardless I will find one that works

the knicks don't want to take on salary, they want to lose it for the 2010 free agent class. the 1st deal is better than the 2nd one, but i really don't see how either of them help us. And i would rather have damp and get a little less scoring from the 5, than have curry and have to live w/ his horrible d.

If that is how you really feel, then here is a simple solution: play Howard only in the 1st have and have another body on the court the 2nd half. How many players average 20 & 7 in just 2 quarters?

As a shooter,

FG%
Bass (51% non tips/dunks/layups) > Nowitzki > Terry > Howard > Crawford (hell, I'd even go as far as say Foster will have better % than Crawford this year)

3 pt%
Terry > Dirk > Crawford > Howard (Ditto with Foster here too)

Edit: One exception is if they are looking to cut salary, I'd trade Stack for Crawford...maybe because Crawford's contract goes past 2010.

The only type of trade I want to see with NY is if Malik Allen gets signed to a "1 year" max deal. Even than I don't really see a fit unless they want to move Crawford or Lee?

No thanks to any trade with New York. That team consists of locker room cancers and bloated egos. Howard is better than all of the players we would be getting back in return.

The sooner people realize that the Knicks are the Third World of Basketball, the better off we'll be.
