Lineups

Post#1 » by TheLSUMaverick » Mon Jul 7, 2008 5:54 pm

I want to hear what everyone thinks will be the rotation for the 2008-2009
first game of the season. If you have any trades in there let me know who
we gave up and why you think the FO would make the trade.

Here is mine:

Kidd/Terry/Barrea
Stackhouse/Green/Terry/Foster
Howard/(*Barnes)/George/R. Terry
Dirk/Bass/Mesah-Bonsuh
Damp/Diop/Bass

I am hoping we can sign Matt Barnes i really like him a lot and think he
would fit perfectly in here.If he is not signed then A. Wright will be signed.
I am really hoping Green becomes extremely good i am very confident in his
ability and think he will become a starter eventually.

Here is who I think will not be on the Mavs on opening day:
Tyronn Lue
Jerry Stackhouse
Josh Howard
Either Devean George or Eddie Jones
Brandon Bass
Juwan Howard
Malik Allen
Jamal Magloire
If we could just close games with Luka, Kyrie, Green, Maxi, and Wood that'd be great...

If Stackhouse is the starting SG on opening night, this is not a playoff team.

I too would love to see them add Barnes. If they somehow can, I would say he starts far ahead of Stackhouse. Barnes plays much better D, and doesn't look for his shot near as much. He'd be a much more complemetary player to Dirk's game IMO.

Whoa I'd hate to see Josh Howard gone on opening day unless we have another superstar

Picture King, I am betting there will be two trades, not just one.

I would make these trades:
Trade 1
Incoming Players
Gerald Wallace
6-7 SG / SF from Alabama

Outgoing Players
Josh Howard
6-5 SG / SF from Wake Forrest

No games yet played in 2007/08 Gerald is bigger younger and a better defender than Josh.

Trade 2
Use Fish's Idea to S&T Stack , Jones and Lue for
Maggette.

My Lineup would be
PG Kidd/Terry/Barea
SG Maggette/Green/Foster
SF Wallace/R.Terry/R.Williams
PF Dirk/Bass/Mensah Bonsu
Ctr Damp/Diop/Pape Sow

This Gives us a big 4 capable of 80 pts per game and a deep, young athletic bench.

I really would do Prince for Howard any day. He has grown on me. Doubt the Pistons do it though

Ahem, I said EITHER George or Jones, not both ! Juwan and Magloire are gone. Lue has no place here. Allen is here only is he signs for the vet minimum and there is no one else better to play 3rd string PF, and trust me there will be someone younger and better. Stack, Howard, Bass, and EITHER George or Jones goes in two seperate trades to hopefully improve the team...

What I am saying is not unreasonable, in fact it makes perfect sense.

Well, I think Wright and George will be traded for Diop.

Dampier / Diop
Nowitzki / Bass
Howard / R. Terry
MLE ( ) / Foster / Stack
Kidd / Terry
