The Dallas Mavericks announced today they have signed guard Keith McLeod and forward James Singleton. Per team policy, terms of the deals were undisclosed. McLeod (6-2, 190) was a member of Montepaschi Siena, the winner of the Italian National Championship in 2007-08. In four games, he averaged 4.5 points, 0.3 rebounds and 0.3 assists in 14.4 minutes in Euroleague play. The four-year pro has played with four NBA teams (Minnesota, Utah, Golden State and Indiana) and holds career averages of 5.5 points, 2.7 assists and 1.3 rebounds in 200 games with 88 starts.

They are spares that if they make the roster will rarely see the floor other than shootaround. I don't forsee them making THIS squad.

If we could just close games with Luka, Kyrie, Green, Maxi, and Wood that'd be great...

So right now we have....
G- Kidd / McLeod / Barea
G- Terry / GGreen / Wright
F- Howard / Stack / Singleton
F- Dirk / Bass / ______
C- Damp / Diop / ________
Geroge is likely to get resigned.
Eddie Jones doesnt seem to have a spot on the roster, unless we make a trade.
We still have guys like Shan Foster and Rayshawn Terry who could take spots.
We need a trade bbaaaaaad

Congrats to James! I really like his game. I hope he makes it into your rotation somehow cause I'd love to see him play when the Clips play against you guys. Will be quite difficult with Howard and Stack ahead of him though. :/

no, they are looking for mcleod to be the primary backup. he must have impressed them so far. so that means Lue will probably go to Phoenix, which i dont like.

2 or 3 of Damp,Stack,Jones,Bass and Terry better be heading out for someone who makes this team better or this season has 8th seed/ missing the playoffs written all over it.

Not exciting signings, but I would say solid( as in alright players). Nothing though, that will make this team any better. I like Singleton, a little defense and some grit. I have a feeling both make the 15 man squad, but maybe some of the younger guys (Terry, Foster, Seibutis, or even Pops) can push these guys for their spots.
Oh Yeah

Is there a reason why you didn't put EJ up there? I thought he had a player option, and since he accepted to come back, he automatically makes the 15-man roster?

Re: Mavs Sign McLeod And Singleton
Does this make you think that there must be some sort of trade coming? Basically once you add Eddie Jones we already have 14 players on the roster. It seems like this team still needs a 3rd Center (maybe Pop Sow). Then they claim that they want to sign Devean George.
And that leaves Shan Foster, Reyshawn Terry, Renaldas Seibutis, among other hopefuls with no hope at all.
It seems to me that they will have to move Eddie Jones or Stackhouse or others to make some more room.

Very very spares. If they get heavy minutes, the Mavs get the lottery.

Jazz fan here: When Mcleod was with the Jazz, we used to call him Keith McClunk......some things never change.
Do you have a grace period to cancel the contract?

Thankfully it is a "Make Good" contract which means if the team does not like the way her performs in Summer League and maybe training camp the team can void the contract. If I were them I couldn't void it fast enough. The guy sucks. He can't shoot and he is one of those over dribbler type of players. I would replace him with JaJuan Smith if I wanted to keep someone from the Summer League team. They should try smith at PG.
