NJ/DET/DAL

Would anyone do this trade? Rasheed and Vince and POSSIBLY Josh are three players I can see being traded this year. Would this make us a better contender?

Dampier / Diop
Dirk / Sheed
?????? / George <---and please don't say Green; he will continue to suck
Carter / Wright
Kidd / ????? / Barea

hummmm

I'd pass for the following reasons:
1) I never want to see Sheed and Dirk on the same team, even if one plays out of position at the center spot.
2) If we do get Sheed and Kidd, I would be under the assumtion we are dumping money and bringing in Carter destroys that notion
3) We have absolutly no defense at the swing unless you start the defensive specialist, if you can even call him that, George with the offensive specialist Carter.
4) Kidd and Carter will not play on the same team again anyways, so why do I keep seeing Carter to Dallas trades?
5) After this trade we have a glaring hole at SF which George, Wright, Green just cannot fill AND after this trade we will have a glaring hole at backup PG

Besides...Howard is WAAAAY too much to assume Carter's contract; New Jersey rapes us again. They are the last team I would do a downgrade trade with.....followed by our division rivals.

I agree with that sentiment for the most-part, however we will continue to see Carter to Dallas trades as long as people assume Dallas is not a player for LBJ and his classmates and that NJ is. In my book Dallas should consider a deal for VC as long as it is based purely on a financial acquisition and does not involve much in the way of talent going to NJ. In fact I'd play hard ball and try to get both VC and the pick back once the season starts and Dallas is able to include George and Singleton/McLeod to a Stack Jones package.

If we are discussing anything along the lines of a Howard for VC deal then hang up the phone...
10:20 (pm, 6/29/06) The Mavs take Maurice Ager at No. 28... Ager walks up to the stage in a triple-breasted, oversized beige suit, goes to shake hands with Stern and immediately gets whistled for a foul on Dwyane Wade.

I never thought about that aspect Sken. Dump Carter for LBJ.

I'd strongly concider this trade that can happen as soon as October 13th
http://www.realgm.com/src_checktrade.ph ... id=4763257

Dallas out: Stackhouse, Terry, Jones
Dallas in: Carter, Ridnour

Milwaukee out: Ridnour, Griffin
Milwaukee in: Terry

New Jersey out: Carter
New Jersey in: Stackhouse, Jones, Griffin (all can be bought out)

I don't like Ridnour, but I was trying to come up with a team that would want Terry and give a backup PG. And if NJ wants more than expirings, they will have to get it from the team taking Terry.

Or ever Dampier + Stackhouse for Carter + Swift
http://games.espn.go.com/nba/features/t ... &te=&cash=
That will give NJ all contracts that end by 2010 and we exchange backup SG for backup big to make the 125% rule work for Damp & Carter

Eight man rotation
Diop (30) / Dirk (18)
Dirk (18) / Bass (30)
Howard (33) / George (15)
Carter (35) / Terry (13)
Kidd (33) / Terry (15)

3rd string big man: Swift
3rd sting PF can be George & Singleton
3rd string swings Green & Wright
3rd string PG Barea

Good things happen with Adrian Griffin in a Mavs uniform. I like it.
