Unless Larry Hughes finds a time machine and goes back to his last year when with the Wizards, I never want to see him in a Mavericks uniform... Not even as a fan in the stands.

First off, I would bet a ton that you WOULD watch the Mavs no matter who they have on their roster.

Secondly, JJ Barea shouldnt even be in the league. He is worthless.

Third, You're going to throw Hughes' FG% when we have Kidd who shoots worse?? Of course Hughes isn't a great PG, that's why he would be the BACKUP. If you think Kidd will play anywhere close to 40 minutes per game you are crazy. We already tried JET at the point, it didnt work. JET is a two guard in a PG's body. We have to keep him at the 2. Im not a huge Hughes fan, but he is a pretty decent defensive player and played well in Chicago during the latter part of last year. If you have a better option for us then who would it be?

I was mainly taking on Hughes to get Nocioni. Noc is the key in this trade. Noc is a very high energy guy that plays hard and has a nice all around game. He would be a solid back up to Josh. Although if given some time, Wright could progress. Look, Im looking at backups here, not starters. I think our starting 5 is in pretty good shape.

If you think we can keep Kidd, Dirk, Josh and still get some sort of allstar SG then YOURE CRAZY. Trades have to work for both sides.

BTW, Damp does blow. 6 pts and 7 boards blows when youre making $12 mil per year! I would mind those numbers from Diop making the MLE. We will not be successful until we get rid of Damp and get someone with passion. We should have tried to sign Francisco Elson and get rid of Damp.

Um, Terry was pretty much the indentical type of distributor that Harris was, but with less turnovers. I dont really mind seeing him at the point given his ability to score, its his defense that kills us at the PG position, but he is stronger than JJB at defending and working thru screens. And with this new coaching staff we hopefully dont have to see endless isolation plays that invole zero passing.

The Mavs should have traded for Carter in the first place over Kidd. Maybe trading Harris, Diop and Stackhouse would have worked and then you would have a lineup that has Terry, Carter, Howard, Dirk, and Diop this year.

Assuming Carter's contract with Stack, George, Hassell and the 2 picks should have been enough. No way in hell we should have given Harris for Kidd and take that times 3 for Carter!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nocioni? Chi seems to see him as a bit of bloated contract, you hardly need to take Hughes to get him,they probably would be happy to get Stackhouse. I like Nocioni. His spunk kept the Bulls from a total tailspin. Damp has little trade value...you got him for what,Evan Eschmeyer and Popeye Jones,and that was after a career year. Kidd was not integrated into the mix..which is when he can matter most. He is losing a step but he plays big,and smart and can matchup with a smallish SG.
Terry is probably who I'd hope to cash in.

If you see Diop as your salvation at C....well....that kind of spotlights the weak link.

I think everyone agrees that SG is our problem
Dirk and Bass at PF not a problem
Dampier and Diop at center not much of a problem
Kidd and Terry at PG not a problem
Howard nothing much else a bit of a problem
SG ? a problem for sure. Our veteran wings all suck and we need to give the young kids a shot at showing what they have.

TDL deal will be the time about when we do something to fix this and we have a bunch of young wings we need to audition prior to that. Green Wright Singleton RAT and Rhodes should all get minutes early in the season to see how they do. plus lets see if Bass can move to the 3 and work when Howard plays the 2. Doubt that works but its worth a try.

Stack George and Jones are all trade bait that need to be used to help us get another wing. If they want Bass as well we do that too if the player coming back is worthy of such sacrafice.

Whatever we can get with an expiring contract like Stack (yes I know he's not really expiring but in a way he is ) and Bass a young cheap up and coming talent is what we need to do. We need a star that is fed up languishing on a team that is going nowhere and that won't be apparent till TDL time and the league pecking order is set. At the atart of the season everyone thinks they are going to do well you need to let the facts settle them down a little before you try to propose a trade for a SG that doesn't really fit and maybe by then a SG is shooting his mouth off demanding a trade. Artest is an example of what I mean and someone out there will do it this year the question is who.
