I miss my Mavs...

Post#1 » by slamdunke » Tue Sep 23, 2008 1:20 am

It's that time of teh year again, ladies and gentlemen. Where, training camp is around the corner, and the hardcore basketball fans begin to track every little movement in camp, just hoping to get some NBA Mavs topic to talk about. This year, i'm looking for a reason for optimism. Usually, i like to see what Devin Harris has added to his game. This year, who do i look for to be the so called "break out" player that i could follow? Can anyone help give me some hopes for optimism this year?

btw: i've been seeing Maurice Agers about 3-4 times a week at my school gym (Arlington). Thought the guy got traded to New Jersey. Anyone got any insights on his affiliation w/DFW?

Don't worry Slamdunke, The Mavs will be back soon, and even though everything is crazy right now with Josh Howard, and the team has been painfully inactive with roster movements, as long as this team has Dirk Nowitzki there is a fighting chance, and that also means that the season will be entertaining at least.

I miss Devin as well, I remember saying years ago when I'd watched the game with my family for people to keep an eye on him, because he was getting better and better every year, unfortunately he'll be getting better elsewhere, but who knows, maybe he'll be back a seasoned veteran one day.

As far as breakout players go, I think Gerald Green will be a guy to watch for us, and also, I don't know if it's official or not, but Reyshawn Terry should be at the training camp, and there is a good chance he makes the team, he could do a lot of damage this season as well.

Not sure about Maurice Ager.. perhaps his contract expired and he's been invited to the training camp? not sure on that one.

A 35yo Harris does nothing for me.

And I thought R. Terry already signed a deal in Euro.

Brandon Bass is the obvious guy I would look at as a promising player.

Gerald Green, not so much
much respect to the 2011-2012 champions, Miami Heat, well deserved

Return to Dallas Mavericks
