Is Singleton ready to challenge DG's role?
He's another big guard who can stay with the big man. He's another hustle guys who can keep defenders honest. Despite inexperience, is he good enough to challenge DG's role on the team?

Im not even sure Singleton will make the squad, much less challenge for quality minutes...
Kidd, Wright, Josh, Dirk, Diop
JET, Stack, Williams, Bass, Damp
Barea, Green, George
That leaves two spots for guys like R Terry, Singleton, McLeod, etc.
We still need a third option for Center (I mean a young 7 footer). In my mind, we still need a young backup PG to learn from Kidd and be there for us in a couple of years. I dont think Barea is that guy.

Is this the re-emergence of Pops again? One game and he has it made?

Pops never contributed in games, barely rebounded, and I really dont recall him making any jump shots or dare I say a 3 pointer. Singleton however, looks like a quasi real ball player. We wont be dumping George for him though, even if George shoots another 0-11 game.......but Avery is gone, so you never know

Speaking of George, If you see me refer to D-GRASS, that is our group of swingmen that we are hoping at least one will exceed our expectations this year. I was thinking of DRAGSS, but I like D-GRASS as in D Grass looks greener on the other side of Defense.
Deveon - Gerald - ReyShawn - Antoine - Shawne - Stackhouse
D-GRASS had 41 pts (9 of 28 shooting), 11 reb, 5 ast, 2 stls, 6 turnovers in 70 minutes (George/Stack actually DNP)
That is terrible and not acceptable if we have high playoff hopes.

He impressed me a lot more than DG ever did especially his defense which I think is far superior. Now you know last nights numbers for dgrass would have been better if you did not count shawne's pathetic debut.
Antoine was more than ok and Green did contribute some as well. If Singleton gets consistant with what he offered last night then add the sidelined vets and you have a recipe for sneaking up on the rest of the league and snatching victory from the jaws of defeat.
What I saw with our young players last night was very exciting play that would augment the regulars in ways the aged vets management inflicted on us the last 2 years would never do.
Dirk and Howard only played 12 mins Bass 13:51 plus Dampier and Kidd sat out along with the hopefully soon to be traded Stack. Detroit game tonight will show us a lot about this team and Rick resting the regs before is a sign of him planning to put a whoopin on the Pistons.

i would love to see a hungry Singleton play over useless, washed up, prima donna Devean George. That guy has not done a damn thing since joing the Mavs outside of what...maybe 10 total games where he contributed to the win? is that too high a number?
