Dallas Trade Breakdown

Eddy Curry

Why Dallas we create a hole at center but we get away from JET and fix the hole at backup PG and SG at the same time. I think Curry might help some if Diop can develop his defensive game more.

NY they rid themself of Curry and gain a real defensive center and a PG / SG that might do better in the least.

Then at the trade deadline:

Change in Team Outlook: +3.1 ppg, +5.7 rpg, and +5.1 apg.
Incoming Players
Charlie Villanueva
6-10 PF from Connecticut
10.7 ppg, 7.3 rpg, 1.3 apg in 22.3 minutes
Luke Ridnour
6-1 PG from Oregon
9.4 ppg, 4.8 rpg, 6.2 apg in 31.7 minutes
Outgoing Players
Brandon Bass
6-8 PF from Lousiana State
7.2 ppg, 3.3 rpg, 0.3 apg in 17.1 minutes
Jose Barea
6-0 PG from Northeastern
2.2 ppg, 0.2 rpg, 0.6 apg in 8.7 minutes
Antoine Wright
6-6 SG / SF from Texas A&M
3.8 ppg, 1.5 rpg, 0.3 apg in 14.5 minutes
Jerry Stackhouse
6-6 SG / SF from North Carolina
3.8 ppg, 1.4 rpg, 1.2 apg in 16.9 minutes
Milwaukee Trade Breakdown
Change in Team Outlook: -3.1 ppg, -5.7 rpg, and -5.1 apg.
Incoming Players
Brandon Bass
6-8 PF from Lousiana State
7.2 ppg, 3.3 rpg, 0.3 apg in 17.1 minutes
Jose Barea
6-0 PG from Northeastern
2.2 ppg, 0.2 rpg, 0.6 apg in 8.7 minutes
Antoine Wright
6-6 SG / SF from Texas A&M
3.8 ppg, 1.5 rpg, 0.3 apg in 14.5 minutes
Jerry Stackhouse
6-6 SG / SF from North Carolina
3.8 ppg, 1.4 rpg, 1.2 apg in 16.9 minutes
Outgoing Players
Charlie Villanueva
6-10 PF from Connecticut
10.7 ppg, 7.3 rpg, 1.3 apg in 22.3 minutes
Luke Ridnour
6-1 PG from Oregon
9.4 ppg, 4.8 rpg, 6.2 apg in 31.7 minutes

They free a path for Sessions to start without overpaying Luke to be a backup. Bass and Wright give them youth at the 4 and 3 plus Stacks expirer frees up cap.

We get bigger at the backup 4/5 and a better PG to backup Kidd

Diop Curry
Dirk Villaneueva
Howard Singleton Williams
Crawford Green
Kidd Ridnour

we can now add either R Terry and Rhodes or both and still have a spot for another PG like Marbury if he gets released or McDyess.

We save, what? One year on Terry's contract...the year that is only guaranteed 5 mil? To do that, we add the difference btwn Curry and Dampier ($7.83 mil which eliminates any above MLE player in 2010) in order to save the differnece btwn Terry and Crawford ($5.06 mil).

We take a a downgrade from Terry to Crawford as proven by years past. Thus far this year, Terry beats Crawford in FG%, FT%, RPG, APG, SPG, BPG, PPG and fewer turnovers. In order to do that downgrade, we take Curry's fat lard?

I decline this trade immediatly if I'm GM. I'd have a very hard time pulling the trigger of Terry for Crawford straight up. Much less as the Dampier-Curry part of that.

I don't even see the point on the 2nd trade. I think it centers around Bass for Charlie V by making Stack's and Barea's $12.3 mil into Ridnour's 13 mil and use Wright as a sweetner? Just don't see the point. I'd rather just waive Stackhouse than do that trade.

No thanks... Even though tanking is looking more and more attractive each day
