Josh Howard A Father
If it seems like Josh Howard's life since the end of last season was a series of fiascos, there was good reason. His losing streak of poor decisions reads like a how-to-screw-up-a-promising-career guide.
There's one decision Howard doesn't regret. One he won't ever regret. The same guy many folks in Dallas wanted to run out of town and others around the country wanted run out of the league experienced a life-altering moment as the summer came to a close.
He became a first-time papa.
"It gave me new life," Howard said Tuesday before the Mavericks' loss to the Lakers. "It's somebody that's going to be looking at you. It's a good feeling. It's kind of hard to describe."

Everyone has a right to be stupid. Some just abuse the privilege.

Howard is doing good right now, no reason to trade him and we wont get the right value back for him so...

Re: Josh Howard A Father
Is he married to this child's mother, or living in the same house with her? Or has he made another stupid mistake? It looks like on reading ht article that he has made another stupid mistake with another child due soon from an unmarried situation. Does he learn nothing from Shawn Kemp?

At least he is not Tom Brady.
And please, don't call bringing a child into this world a "mistake"

Not my statement. My statement was meant to be something along the lines of sprinkling children across the country like shawn kemp with multiple women. I think that is a mistake. Having children is not a mistake if you are ready for it. I have two of my own with my wife.

I saw nothing to imply that the child was somewhere other than Dallas (or his hometown in LA). Where is the child?
But you can't call one child a mistake. Tom Brady is a huge negative (kinda like Kemp), but Howard is nowhere near that. You don't know the circumstances and even if it is worst case scenario, that doesn't make it "another stupid mistake."
I have a daughter as well. She is definatly not a mistake. I am not married to my ex anymore, but that does not mean I made a mistake with my daughter, my ex or my marriage. My daughter is still the happiest 6yo I know. Howard could be in that same situation. If this is an unplanned pregnacy and he does not fully love thhe lady, the mistake would be to get married just because of the centries long falacy that you need to get married for the child.

Re: Josh Howard A Father
You are reading way to much into my simple words. I Thought he was not married, and do not know what is status is with the mother of this child. I view Howard as a very immature person given his recent behavior, , and most immature people are not ready to raise children. The story also mentions another child due this month. That would tell me more than one mother is involved.
If you are ready then having children is not a mistake. If you are not ready, then it can be a huge mistake. It is tougher if you are not married and love the person you are with. Children do not save marriages. Being a parent is tough. Being a parent has made me be a real stickler on people that are not or were not ready to take on the responsibility. That is my only point, and I do not see Howard capable of being a good parent, and possibly having children with more than one woman.

Re: Josh Howard A Father
well, it seems to be effecting his outlook & play positively. you shouldnt really be ever judging the man from anything except what you see on the Basketball court.
every single negative i've ever heard about Josh Howard, from the celebrating his Birthday party after a playoff Loss, to smoking Weed, & not lying about it, to Some street racing & a misguided, misinterpreted Joke on the anthem, really was not a big deal to me, and i had no issues with.
really pathetic how people percieve negativity & are all up in arms about another mans business. People make mistakes and Howard is smart enough and bold enough to say it. to me, the biggest issue i heard all summer was the drag racing in NC, because that could harm somebody, the rest of it? Nothing to me.

Celebrating his birthday party after the loss doesn't bother me, but admitting to smoking pot was just stupid, and nothing good comes from saying it. He just needs to wise up and keep his personal life behind closed doors. There are people that look up to him and I feel he has a responsibility to acknowledge that.
My concerns since all these things have happened:
Is Josh hurting his trade value?
Is he hurting the team chemistry or being looked at as a cancer by his teammates?
Off year last season, so will he improve even with all the new attention that he put on himself?
DALLAS MAVERICKS BASKETBALL > Josh Howard
If I come off as negative about Josh, it's because of my love for the team, and wanting the best for the Dallas Mavericks. Josh is replaceable and I just hope he stays out of the media.
