Now that the Clips have Randolph...

Post#1 » by jlp0807 » Fri Nov 21, 2008 10:42 pm

Looks like the LA Clippers have an extra big man on their squad. I just looked at ESPN Trade Machine to see if this works...

Dallas sends Erick Dampier and Jerry Stackhouse to LA Clippers
LA Clippers send Chris Kaman and Marcus Camby to Dallas

Kaman and Camby would be a great two-headed monster down low, with Diop playing his sorry game at third string. Against larger line-ups, we could even play Kidd, Josh, Dirk, Camby and Kaman. Kaman could provide the scoring punch down low that we've never had and Camby (when healthy) can guard several positions.

The Clips could have scoring (Randolph) and some defense (Damp) down low to make for a decent front court. They would also have one year less in financial obligations.

I dont have time to get into all of the details, but what do you all think?

Are you serious? the clips would not touch Dampier for either of them...much less Stack & Damp for both.

Oh, and as far as interest, yes, I'm interested in Kaman...not so much on Camby. Camby is a better help side defender like Dirk (better than Dirk's though) and Camby is a jumpshooter on offense (Dirk is better). I think Damp or Kaman will complement Dirk well, but I have no interest in Camby.

Just trying to think outside the box. I think Camby and Kaman are both better than Damp... which is maybe why LA C wouldnt go for it.

Eek. Don't post this on any other forum or you'll get flamed from high heavens and back.

It makes no sense for the Clippers to trade both Kaman and Camby. Why would they downgrade to Dampier at that position? A better trade for both teams would be Terry for Kaman straight up. The Clippers would have a scoring replacement for Cuttino and the Mav's beef up their frontline. Works in the trade checker.

They have one extra starter big, why would they trade two of their starter bigs for useless Dampier and geriatric Jerry Stackhouse? I don't think it's ever going to be possible to trade 2, 20 minute a night guys for a new starting front court.

Dallas will need to throw in a cheap young talent like Bass and probably a pick along with one of those contracts to get the Clippers to consider moving Kaman, nevermind Camby. And that depends on what the direction of LAC is. They don't appear to be in cost-cutting mode, so maybe they'd want more.

The team we need to be looking at is the Warriors.

With the emergence of the SG, Anthony Morrow and their aquisition of Jamaal Crawford, and the Stephen Jackson extension, Maggette and Azibuike may be on the block. They are actually playing Maggette at the PF and Morrow at the PG spot to play all their swingmen.

Morrow, Azibuike, Jackson, Maggette, Biedrins....that's their lineup. 4 swingmen and a thin center. Now tell me thay cannot use Brandon Bass + filler for one of those guys. Personally, I think Barea (they need a PG) + Bass (to replace Harrington) for Azibuike would be the BEST deal for both sides.

Dallas new lineup
Dampier - Diop
Nowitzki - Singleton
Howard - Williams
Azubuike - Green
Kidd - Terry

Wright expirment at the point may pay offin emergency situations and George can play PF in emergency situation.

I'm sorry but this has got to be the stupidest trade I have ever seen on this board.
