Man we hear all about the comparisons with Gerald to Tmac and damn some of it has already come into play

His back is tweaked and we all knowwwwwwwwwwwww about Tmacs back
the kids 22 and already having problems Tmac has dealt with since he was 26

Lets not hype up Antoine Wright right now
I do not believe he and Josh Howard can be on the floor at the same time
Wright proved hes a slasher but man the boy went 0-5 from 3 point land
He cant shoot!
the foo was WIDE WIDE OPEN on his 3 point attempts
We need a wing whose a 3 point shooter to counter howards slashing
Green be that guy but i dunno when his game will come around or if his back will continue to have a problem through the course of the season

I wish GGreen would have gotten time.. Its all good, very happy about the come-from-behind win. JEt, Dirk, and Wright were very impressive

Just a note to all those who called me crazy for not wanting to trading Kidd, Howard or Terry (if contracts were the same) for Iverson...check this out.

the only good thing about iverson is his ability to take over a game by scoring
we have a great PF
good enough C tandem to win in this league
A back up bruising PF
A solid slashing defending SF
Elite pointguard
Elite 6th man

its unfortunate for us to have Kidd at 35 years old, if he was 28 with Jet at the 2 it would work perfectly but Jkidd isnt at that athletic level n e more
we got alot of the players needed to be a championship caliber team but we are missing a shooting guard whom can shoot the 3 drive when needed and defend at a high level
and i forget to mention that we have athletic wings whom can compete in this league with almost anyone

hopefully by the the all star break we will have a team well above 500 fighting for the 1 of the top 4 spots in the playoffs and their gelling in to a championship team
talents their...we just have alot of trouble executing down the stretch and dealing with physical teams

plus im sure u guys realized but man did we miss josh howard on the defensive end in this game even though antoine wright made up for his slashing and defense

I was truly the fortune teller
1) exit first round :( it doesn't matter how they do in playoffs this year, this mavs team has no future, i still think they should rebuild
2) no major trade for big stars coz i really lost confidence on our FO, can you name a good trade ever since Don Nelson was gone, i cannot....
but Stack will be gone by X-mas holiday

I am trying to focus to get my force together to predict a win against Lakers on Friday

Terry is never given the credit he deserves and all that is ever mentioned is his "bad contract" Terry's career PPG stats would be similar to Iverson's if he threw up 30 shots a game.

nah, now it's getting a little out of hand.
it's nowhere near that (terry 4 times better than iverson?!)
every single team in the nba would chose iverson over terry. every single team, no doubt about that.
what you seem to forget is that iverson gets consistant double teams, the whole defense of opposing teams is about him.
now would iverson be a better fit here in dallas? I dont think so, because he wouldnt fit in our backcourt and his salary is simply put too much for our payroll.
while terry is a fine player (especially when he is on a run like the past games; too bad it doesnt happen more often) he is nowhere near iverson's level

and only to be clear here: I dont like iverson

I'm with you Italy. Comparing Iverson and Terry would be laughable to most NBA fans.
I hate Iverson, but we definitely need a player who can draw attention away from Dirk and AI would do that. Terry gets his points in different ways that doesn't really open things up for others.

If a Terry/Stack trade for AI was available for the Mavs, Donnie should be fired for turning it down.
This team needs another star and I hope nobody argues that Terry is anything close to that.

If Terry is "The Answer" for this team, I'd hate to think what the question is.

Because of contract...not talent, fit, skill, effeciency or anything like that. If they were paid the same, and for the same amount of years, he would be fired for trading team player Terry for the cancer to the team and organization that is Iverson. I've said it before Iverson reached the finals and have never strayed...any team...I mean ANY TEAM, where Iverson is "the man" or a top 3 option is going nowhere.

And if Iverson is "The Answer" for this team, I'd hate to think what the question is. He and Gilbert Arenas are the 2 most over-rated players in this league. Neither are good enough to have endorsements but somehow do.

Edit: same is true with Terry about being "the man" or a top 3 option. I think we all agree that Dirk is our #1, Howard is our #2 and one of the Jason's is our #3. The difference is that if Iverson came here, he would try to be the #1 or the #2 option whereas Terry knows his role and is willing to do what is best for the team. Iverson is willing to do what is best for his ego. That is why his worth over Terry is only based on contract...we could get rid of his ass and aim for 2010 free agency. If 2010 is not in our FO's mind, then Terry should be kept since we can get his 2008-09 salary, 2009-10 salary and half of his 2011-12 guaranteed salary for what it would cost this year alone with Iverson.

Does this mean the Pistons are going for a championship or dumping salary?

I didn't hear or read about any rumors about them going after Terry.

Going after AI would have been a no-brainer for the mavs because AI is still greater than Terry with a much more attractive expiring contract if it didn't work out.
Defenses will give much more attention to AI because of his style in the way he scores.
If we are going to run ISOs anyway, AI would be a better fit. Terry has looked great lately but if our scoring options are Dirk (1), Howard (2), Terry(3) (the order of the last 2 is debatable in the last 5 minutes of a game imo) we can only expect the same result in the POs as the previous 2 seasons.

So what which would you prefer, Dirk being double-teamed with Terry open, or AI being double-teamed with Dirk open?

I'm still waiting for Terry to be enough of a threat on a consistent basis to draw double-teams. At least AI makes teams play some defense even if he is a ball hog.

Yeah, I think we both are waiting for Terry to be concistant, but he has always (or at least since the Mavs) been more effecient scorer. Iversaon jacks too many up and can lose a game single handedly because he will take that shot when double teamed instead of passing it to the wide open Dirk. Iverson is a cancer no matter how you look at it. We can sign him up with the MLE, lose no other players and automatically lose [at least] 5 more games next year. Thats a fact in my mind an I will take that bet with anyone...and win a lot of money in vegas if that was a bet. The only thing attractive about him is the same thing attractive of Marbury...expiring.

Skips today's practice
Pistons guard Allen Iverson missed practice on Thursday and will face a "hefty" fine, according to coach Michael Curry.

"I'm surprised when guys are late; I'm surprised when they don't show," Curry said. "It's a pretty hefty fine to be late, or to miss, and once again, it's accountability for yourself and your teammates."

Rodney Stuckey will start in Iverson's place on Friday against Milwaukee. Curry said he hadn't decided whether Iverson would play.

^classic video. just great.
but still you wouldnt find one team choosing terry over iverson based on their play. not even with all the issues AI brings (ballhog, bad chemistry, missed practice).
