Rick Carlislie competency vote

Would like to know what grade people think after 14 games the new coach has earned? 5 loses in a row followed by 5 wins in a row. SG troubles but competive in most games. So has he done a good job so far with what he has? or has he been average like his team? or does he just plain stink? Maybe somewhere in between let me here from ya!

incomplete.

Gets an A for giving Stack plenty of chances to prove himself before drawing the line and telling the vet he is done in Dallas

Gets an F for playing Barea as the primary backup PG. Terry should be getting 12 min at PG and 18 min at SG, not 35 min at SG.

All else, C or B. Still have to see what he does about the PG/Terry situation.

One other note is that I think he is playing players other than his core plaers plenty of minutes to see if they are key in the post-season and/or up their trade value. But if he is playing Wright/Singlton/Williams major minutes late in the season with their current play, he will get an F.

I voted C because of our weak record so far, if he keeps it up with the winning streak i will vote for B.

Ah yes, sitting Stack is a huge + in my book.

I was thinking somewhere between C and B. the stack thing made me vote for B.

I voted C because he has done so well with the young wing players. I loved when he sat stackhouse and traded jones. I just wish RAT was still around...

I'll give him a B since he has basically proved the problem with this team has nothing to do with the coach. We have basically been average since the Kidd trade and had about the same winning percentage with Avery.
If Carlisle can convince Cuban and Donnie that this team is not championship caliber in terms of chemistry and skills, I'll give him an A.

I think Carslile is saying and doing the right things off the court.

"With the practices we've been having, I'd rather play, to be honest," Nowitzki said, half-jokingly. "We've been practicing three or four hours. I told them yesterday that I'd rather have 41 back-to-backs than one practice with Carlisle."

Turning serious, he added: "No, we need some work obviously on both ends of the floor. We can get sharper. We've been doing a lot of work in practice."

I give Carlislie a B. He is not so stubborn like Avery and adjusts when needed. He gives the younger players playing time. With Avery, Green, Wright, S Williams would have been benched in favor of Stackhouse and George. If the record was better by 2 or 3 wins I'd give him an A.
