burn me for this one

it´s been long since the days

back in black - when you see the mavs record and the glimpse of yet to come

so here it´s a very desperate move for winning now, give up all chances for 2010 and maybe not even contest for a championship:

Dallas Trade Breakdown
Change in Team Outlook: +2.9 ppg, -6.1 rpg, and +3.3 apg.

if cuban doesn´t like bobby he can have the stromile instead of simmons

for dallas: (hopefully) clutch carter (would probably have him till his retirement), brook lopez (big talent and scoring option under the basket-maybe defense would be lacking)

for new jersey: establish harris as franchise player, buddy howard comes to him, stackhouse and dampier virtually expire till 2010 and so they have a chance to build a Big Big THREE, give up brook but that´s the meltin pot for dallas - bass as sweetener

basically carter and lopez for howard, bass and expiring
--------------------------------------------------

after that: trade terry to charlotte or somewhere else for sf and get a backup pf out of the desert - give green playing time in the season where it´s not that much important-

another big gamble for dallas, but it´s cubans money and not mine - brook as little insurance for the future
-
bitter pill to swallow for probably not even one championship

followed by this:

Dallas Trade Breakdown
Change in Team Outlook: -0.4 ppg, +2.7 rpg, and -2.0 apg.
Incoming Players
Corey Maggette
6-6 SF from Duk
19.7 ppg, 5.3 rpg, 1.9 apg in 35.8 minutes
Outgoing Players
Jason Terry
6-2 PG from Arizona
20.1 ppg, 2.6 rpg, 3.9 apg in 34.8 minutes

Golden State Trade Breakdown
Change in Team Outlook: +0.4 ppg, -2.7 rpg, and +2.0 apg.
Incoming Players
Jason Terry
6-2 PG from Arizona
20.1 ppg, 2.6 rpg, 3.9 apg in 34.8 minutes
Outgoing Players
Corey Maggette
6-6 SF from Duk
19.7 ppg, 5.3 rpg, 1.9 apg in 35.8 minutes
---------------------------------------------------------
man he attacks the rim - look at the three throw attempts in some statistics;
definitely our bench would suck
with stephon it would be a bunch of mercenaries going for a title shot
green has to explode, singleton too
big gamble but i like all or nothing (between golden state gets the pg they need-maybe not in their opinion)

warriors wouldnt do that they already have an undersized SG in crawford. why would the wanna have both terry & crawford on the same team?
plus they have monta ellis who isnt a point guard either
they would ask to add a little more size to their team especially on the 4 spot since wright and randolph are not the answer yet

The problem is salaries. While Vince is easily a better player than Josh IMO and better fit, his contract is too huge to take on for this team at this point. I dont think NJ would do this either as Lopez is doing great for them, as great as Bass is they have enough PFs and need a good center.

I'm not sure about the GS trade. I imagine Mag has more value than the JET because of his age while their contracts are equally bad. GS wont trade Corey right after they signed him IMO.

I don't know about the GM, but the Net fans on this site would not give up Brook Lopez alone for Josh Howard.

I have no interest in Vince Carter's contract unless the talent difference is huge (Carter for Stack + George + Wright + Barea......or to mach salaries with fewer people Stack + Diop). Carter for Howard does nothing but hurt us in the long run and does not do enough for us today to win a championship. Besides, as long as NJ has our 2010 pick, they are not going to help us get better.

Last note, trade I would urge is a Josh Howard for Bobby Simmons, our 2010 pick and their 2009 pick. That would allow us to rebuild easier.

I would really like the Howard for Simmons plus picks trade. Mavs have been playing well with Howard out and really could use the picks. Simmons has one less year on his contract than Howard. That trade would be a win for both clubs. New Jersey gets immediately better and the Mavs can build for the future and clear some space for 2010 without blowing up the team completely. I agree I don't want Carter here. He is one to two years away from being what Stackhouse is now, except much more expensive. I would love to have Lopez here but who wouldn't want a young talented big man? We don't have the pieces to get Lopez. I would hope the Mavs go for a trade similar to the Howard for Simmons and picks.

id do the 1st trade in a second but doubt nets would unless they really undervalue brook lopez. i thought he was a steal for the pick they got him at and would a solid low post presence for us, but it's not going to happen

New Jersey wouldnt do it, Golden State wouldnt do it.

Im fine with keeping Terry as long as he's playing like this anyway, but New Jersey wouldnt trade Lopez off their team in his rookie year playing like this

Rod Thorn has come out and said that Harris, Lopez, and Yi are as close to "untouchables" in that team. They are most definitely not giving him up (especially since Carter is included in the deal too) for Josh Howard and roleplayers.
