LOL! Dirk for MVP campaign

Post#1 » by JES12 » Tue Dec 9, 2008 1:27 am

Mike Fisher at DB.com is trying to give an argument for Dirk as MVP.

Even if all that is true, does he actually think the sprots writers around the league will even concider Dirk as MVP without winning a championship the year before?

It can start with Dirk starting at the All-Star game.

It's a just a sad situation that Yi Jianlian has a bigger chance of starting in the all star game than Dirk.

He wont ever win one unless he wins a ring after the GS series.

But it's not an "LOL" when you consider that the team is a D-league team without his consistent production.

Without Dirk we would be the Dallas Nets. I understand Dirk is our MVP, but to try and make a case for league MVP is LOL.

No (ignore the avatar, it's from a few years ago and I'm too lazy to change it). He's not in the top five either. Maybe he cracks the top ten.

What does a popularity contest have to do with whether a player is valuable? He's made the All-NBA First team, composed of just five players, several times. That's a greater achievement than starting an All Star game, whose starting roster is created by dumb teenagers and biased Chinese voters. Do you really think that Yao, who has started many all star games, has had a better career than Dirk? REALLY? The all star game.
