G. Wallace for J. Terry

Post#1 » by DJDanji » Thu Dec 11, 2008 12:55 pm

Change in Team Outlook: -4.2 ppg, +5.1 rpg, and -1.5 apg.
Incoming Players
Adam Morrison
6-8 SF from Gonzaga
6.0 ppg, 2.2 rpg, 1.2 apg in 17.3 minutes
Gerald Wallace
6-7 SG / SF from Alabama
15.3 ppg, 7.6 rpg, 2.2 apg in 38.1 minutes
Outgoing Players
Jerry Stackhouse
6-6 SG / SF from North Carolina
5.3 ppg, 1.9 rpg, 1.1 apg in 17.6 minutes
Jason Terry
6-2 PG from Arizona
20.2 ppg, 2.8 rpg, 3.8 apg in 35.6 minutes

Why for Charlotte:
Don’t exactly know where they are heading to, but they cut salary with this trade ;)

Why for Dallas:
They sacrifice a lot of money. But the Roster looks stronger in my eyes. We would have a pretty athletic and good defensive lineup. Morrison could be changed to Matt Carroll, both should provide more from the bench than Stackhouse.
Though looking in the future won’t make you feel good.

have to say no... Wallace teaming with JHo, we are doomed... We need the Jet

Too bad that we missed the chance to have Jrich and Wallace both on our roster  i really hoped it to happen but...

I'd do it with or without the Stack-Morrison swap.

Yeah, but then your best 2 swing men, and your starting sg, are really true small forwards (Wallace and Howard). And of course, I'm a JET fan and think that he is the PERFECT 3rd guard (can play both positions pretty well but not an all-star at either), so I would always prefer to get a starting sg without giving him up.

I don't know. I guess it's an improvement, but I wish we could pick up a starting sg without having to give JET up. I just have an uneasy feeling every time his name comes up in trade rumors.

Suppose we could pick Wallace up for one of our young guards and something else (Stack and Wright, Stack and Barea, etc, etc, etc)?

Im up for the idea of seeing J-Ho play SG with Wallace playing SF... Morrison would have to shave that child molester mustache before suiting up though

I would hate to see Terry leave the Mavs as he is one of my favorite players, but this trade makes the Mavs stronger. I would go for this one and let Barea take over Jet's role as sixth man. This trade leaves us without a third string PG so I would think the Mavs would have to make one more move to address that issue moving Green,Williams,George,or Wright for a veteran backup PG.

I'm wondering if Barea/Singleton/Stack would be enough to pry Miller from the Wolves.
That would be a way to upgrade the SG without giving up Terry.
Kidd/Terry
Miller/Wright/Green
JHo/George/Williams
Dirk/Bass
Damp/Diop

Imagine opposing teams trying to guard 3s if Kidd/Terry/Miller/JHo/Dirk is our lineup.
