He's become really close with Luka and Maxi. He said he wants to stay in Dallas so i think he won't leave because of something like 10M difference. Stranger things have happened sure, but playing for Dallas with Luka is far better than playing for Cade and Detroit

yes that is correct. Texas has no income tax, that means Detroit has to pay more to get Brunson since his net income would be lesser. Does Michigan have a state income tax?

Wonder if Cuban matches if it comes down to that or a sign and trade can be worked out. If 37 year old Kyle Lowry can sign for that much, pretty sure some crazy team can toss $100M to Brunson easily. The question is where does Cuban get off the salary ladder. You dont want Luka and Brunson earning equal amounts IMO.

$100m won't surprise me but it will if it's over four years. We must sign to keep or to sign and trade later, but the key is retaining talent that we do have & drafted.

I think 4/$100M is exactly what Brunson is looking at getting. It was previously mentioned that he was looking for something in the range of $20M per. So let’s say Detroit offers 4/$100M would Brunson (in order to stay with the Mavs) take an offer of 4/$90M? Factoring in no state tax in Texas the deals would actually be very close. Would Brunson accept that over a deal from Detroit?

Per wiretap, Rick Brunson said no such thing as a hometown discount for Dallas. He needs to see money not words. If you love Jalen, then show him. His words, not mine.

For the time we've known Cuban, he's never been receptive to players (or family members) who ask him for big contracts. Hope this can change for Dallas to keep Jalen. Under reaaonable circumstances of course.

I know it sounds off, but for discussion purposes, I've heard about Pop having interest in Brunson. I have no problems with a Dejounte Murray S&T there.
