Yes they shot that many 3s with decent % and still lost, that means this team is just very very average and there's no other explanation.

And our stars have not been a game changer or savior.

with Luka comig back and not having his game tuned up plus Irving being out this was a penciiled in loss that we almost won.

It was a good game luka and hardy played well together, luka was rusty around the rim and his 3's was bad but he was moving good and actually looked fast out there... I take that passing from luka every game.

Honestly the credit should be given to him. If he nailed on his prediction, that is not hating. I mean what he said was not like "the earth is flat" kind of wrong, right?

rofl luka could've had 50 and that dude still be hating...

But Luka didn't have 50 and yet again had a no show in crunch moment. Sure no one can hit game winner every single game. But Luka's decision making has been terrible in crunch moment. Look at the last play by Warriors, Curry had a lay up for the game winner. He didn't just settle on his 3s. Luke on the other hand is all about launching prayer 3s and he did it again today. He can easily tell Wood I will create for you and you go with the finish coz they can't guard you, and he didn't. Wood was like **** why did you pass it to me and returned the ball and the rest is another prayer 3. All teams in the league has figured out Luka's crunch moment decision, that's why there's no more Luka magic to save us.

Lesser team finds a way to lose. Same thing can be said about AD's terrible play to allow us to buzzer beat them.

Luka got the ball back on the perimeter with less than 5 sec left... what you want him to do.

Because they can't defend anything. Warriors were 38/51 for 2. And they can't rebound.

I think you’re right. Go back and look at the losses. They’re losing games when they’re shooting more threes than the opponent AND at a better percentage. They should not be losing these games in the modern NBA. The average NBA team would be blowing the opponent out if they shot these percentages and with the Mavs the games are close. Even when they win the games are close. It makes no sense.

Maybe you didn't read my post at all. I said he could have communicated to Wood and tell him hey they cannot guard you I will be your disguise and I will get you the ball and you kill them.

He didn't becoz Wood didn't even turn around in that play to try to score. But clearly based on the play Luka wanted Wood to score coz he had the mismatch hence he did give the ball to Wood and many seconds were wasted because of that. Had Luka wanted an iso situation, he would have told Wood to clear the space.

I think you’re onto something. Should they play bigger line ups? Maybe play Maxi and McGee at the same time to shore up rebounding and rim protection? I have no other solution. The fact that this team chased after perimeter players during the buy out session and didn’t trade for a big is a huge whiff.

What game did you watch? He was doubled above the 3pt line, passed to Wood who was completely open at the FT but instead of going for a shot started spinning around for some weird reason. After he passed it back, Luka had 2 guys on him and almost no seconds left to shoot.

You and that other dude are just making **** up at this point.

Mavs more or less lost this game on bad rebounds and letting yet another team score at will under the rim. They lost to a team that shot 31% from 3 on a high volume. It's really not that difficult to put 2 and 2 together.

Probably need to go 6-4 in the last 10 to avoid the play-in.....0-1.

There you go. You said it. The sequence was Luka was doubled and Wood was open and Luka got the ball to Wood. And Wood was scared or hesitated at the moment and didn't even try to score. So we did watch the same game.

Luka should have yelled to Wood. Finish it after Wood received the ball or even communicated to Wood during the timeout that hey I want you to score if you are open sort of thing.

Honestly I don't give a poo poo about play in games. We have proved that we suck this year. Just hope this disappointing season ends asap and the FO can deal with kyrie situation (likely he will leave after seeing how bad this team is)

With the better finance situation, it's time to move on and forget about this terrible season and focus on the future.

That's not what you first said. You said his decision was terrible and he shouldn't have forced the 3. You also said he basically left Wood in a bad position because he passed the ball to him.

In fact...

In that specific play, Luka did everything right. He went to the side, created space, drew 2 guys on him, passed the ball to an completely open player. If he then needs to further direct traffic and tell people what to do, then this team is even more screwed than we thought.

Luka and Kyrie are both capable of having 120 offensive rating, so offense is not the problem. Not been able to stay in front of anyone and in the same time don't have any kind of rim protection is devastating. They need proper big and few wing defenders. Draymond would have been great help for the Mavs.

It was a good game minus the defense inside and rebounds all we could do is build on this and get better in clutch time... West is still wide opened anything can happen in the playoffs.
