Couldn't agree more. I really like Sloan and I think he can motivate this group we have.Duiz wrote:I think Bass is nice.. I think your biggest problem is Avery Johnson, and as a matter was I think. If the Jazz and the Mavs would trade coaches, the Jazz would have won three consecutive top 5 lottery picks, and the Mavs would have won three consecutive championships. Man, Nowitzki is the man, I think I never gave him enough praise for his ability to create his own shots, which usually are often very difficult since he is so big.

You know how avery supposedly used this brilliant tough love technique of benching Kidd to make him score more?
I wonder if Kidd passes in that key moment in last nights game when he missed the freethrow instead of scoring like Avery wants him to do.. I wonder if the Mavs tie that gam right there or win it...
I certianly don't feel comfortbale with Avery's experience level making those kinds of decisions.. I think he does that kind of stuff to make himself feel like he is doing something.. especially sicne he can't effect the game with his X's And O's.. what people call "micromanaging" is really just doing stupid stuff to make him feel like he can do something.. it's the equivalent of a point guard with no game dribbling around all over the place to make it look like they are doing something when they really contribute nothing.. it's alot like Avery constantly berating David Robinson to make it look like he is motivating him when in fact he probably hurt Robinson's confidence and game more than anything. it's just a lot of hot air and window dressing. Like saying "defance" all the time but really bringing nothing to the table as a coach defensively.

It's funny how sensitive people get when someone other than Dirk is blamed for once..
It's no wonder I'm frustrated: this board is now overrun with people who can't read.
Let me be absolutely clear, so even a moron can understand: I blame the TEAM for our shortcomings, not any individual player or coach. I blame the front office for the way they've constructed this team. I blame Avery for his well-documented screw-ups, and Dirk for his. I blame Josh for not showing up over the past few weeks. I blame JET for being inconsistent. I blame Stack for no longer attacking the basket and settling for jumpers. I blamed Harris for his troubles, and Diop for his. All of this I have made absolutely clear in the past, but it seems to require repeating.
And, just as I said, the TEAM lost in LA. It wasn't all Avery, or all Josh, or all Stack, or all anyone. It was the TEAM.

Speaking of people being unable to read.. or think.. some people aren't even smart enough to get the most obvious of hints My point was that you see certain people who can't handle Avery getting any criticsm what so ever. Yet you see Dirk trashed on here on a constant basis and these same people defending Avery don't say a word about Dirk being blamed for everything. And Dirk is least deserving of criticsm in the entire Mavs organization...

WTF did you expect? Scrapping a great team to be 0-3 against playoff teams? If that's what you expected, well, you have it!
I don't care who the player is. When you have a great team, you don't overhaul it at the trade deadline. And if you're argument is "because it's the PG" then you should not even be thinking about that trade until the off-season. It was a dumb trade. PERIOD!
we lost in OT to the 2nd best team in the west, and by a possession to the best team in the west. we didnt have a great team. devin harris helped us in one way: he was quick. jason kidd is 10x the player devin harris is and ever will be. it wasn't a dumb trade. once again, get over devin.

I don't take names.. but there have been large periods of time where one guy used to call Dirk a french word for cat in about every post he ever made.. and no one said jack about it. I have seen Dirk take more abuse than any other Mav by far over the past few years. which is why I found it so funny/weird that people are getting so defensive of little Napolean.
The weirdest part to me though is how little people let Avery get away with Kidd. avery has been doing this crazy stuff to dirk from day one and no one really said anything. Then Avery does he same kind of stuff to Kidd just once and everyone flips out. Maybe they were holding their tongues about what Avery was doing to Dirk all that time and then whe they saw him do the same thing to Kidd they realized that the problem wasn't Dirk but Avery. But why did it take it happening to Kidd to get it? Do they underrate Dirk that much?

there have really been 2 people that have criticized dirk on the mavs board since i joined (the general board is a different story, people hate him) 1 is dirtyfilthynasty and the other was a moron troll who is clueless and was banned once and has come back once or twice
im sure people didnt say anything about dirk the last couple years b/c we were great and dirk was experiencing great personal and team success. of course avery has been outcoached the last 2 playoff series and hasnt been called out enough for it, now w/some very questionable decisions over the last 3 games im sure people are now starting to see it.
