Yes, fire Nico, and I say hire David Griffin. He's traded AD before and would love to see it again. The dude or the ppl he hires know how to scout talent. Herb Jones, Murphy III were great picks. Their rookie center from last year and Alvarado were also solid finds.

Haha
I'd hire Griffin to trade AD and fire him after that, I hated some of his moves, like trading for DeJonte...

Yea, that was bad. Maybe let him trade AD and then handle the scouting/college side, and let Finley do trades from there.

Brunson doing his best Luka impersonation and dribbling the air out of the ball while 4 other guys just watched. Indy wins game 1.

He was trying too hard. He was playing hero ball.

Yes. He saw Luka do this for four years in Dallas

Max Christie has the tools to have a career jump similar to that of Aaron Nesmith. He needs to get past that Linsanity run of his and focus on developing. He's right on Cooper's timeline.

Jalen Brunson was ine of the most ethical hoopers in Dallas, he's built a reputation of SGA like FT merchant in NYK, this needs to be studied...

Brunson's time in Dallas was more of a spot up shooter with Luka. An argument can be had that Luka was holding his potential back. The more we see Brunson on the ball, the more of a foul merchant he became.

I remembered Donnie Nelson really wanted to pair Luka with Haliburton before. That either could have been right up there as one of the greatest backcourts of all time or Haliburton would have been just a corner spot up shooter.

Well, that is really not a good reputation to have to be honest.

And also, would you be surprised if i tell you that Brunson took more similar amount of shots at the rim when he was with Mavs? He also scored more unassisted points with Mavs, which indicates he already played a lot of ISO. On top of that, his FG% in the paint was higher with Mavs. The reason why he improved his scoring is simply in share volume and slightly improved 3pt shooting.

This myth that Luka was holding him back is simply wrong. In order for that to be true, his shooting %'s would need to be at least the same or even a lot better. But they're not apart from long range. But i'm not sure 3pt shooting %'s are tied to being a 2nd star on the team, just don't see the logic in that.

Because you could say the same for Kyrie that he was held back and we know that is not true. Both worked fine.

Simple fact is, Jalen became who he is in the 2nd half of that final season and playoffs. Don't forget 80% of Mavs fanbase also wanted to trade him for an upgrade. Some of us thought it would be a huge mistake of letting him go...

Jalen didnt look like a max contract type of player when he was in Dallas. One look at him and you wouldn't say, "yeah I'm giving this guy $60M". He bet on himself and got the bag so good for him. But for every Brunson who bets on himself, there's like 10 other guys who don't make it. It just sucks that that one situation where it turned out great happened to the Mavs. Oh and that his agent is also the Knicks' president's son and his dad was waiting for a hand out. That too.

Luka was "holding him back" in a sense that he never would have gotten that type of bag playing behind him. Ever. You really have to get out of Luka's shadow to show your wares. No GM at the time would hand him a max. Only reason they did was because his agent was the GM's son and the son needed the commissions. But everything turned out great on their end. Imagine the GM handing him a max and it didn't workout. That would be peak nepotism. Same **** Pat Riley has been pulling in Miami where he hands out these big contracts left and right to guys who aren't worthy of that type of coin.

Brunson was held back mainly by Carlisle, he said it after he left, RC used to play mind games with him, once Kidd arrived he flourished, mainly because Kidd offesnive scheme is iso-ball and Brunson thrives on iso-ball.

His dad twice offered 55/4 and Cuban/Nico said no. Like i said, Brunson started showing even more potential after the trade deadline and we saw the mistake of not extending him already. He showed even more promise in the playoffs, this is where his price really went up. Bringing Luka into this is irrelevant. Mavs fumbled Brunson and his dad said many times he got fed up with them and went to Knicks. Funny thing is, Knicks didn't offer him max, they just doubled the Mavs offer.

Why continue to rehash the Brunson fiasco? That is ancient history now. Get over it.

Carlisle is a helluva coach. Wish we still had him.
