Disagree.

Secondary ball handler, one of the very best volume shooters in league history and a passable defensive player. He's ideal for a rotation with Luka and KP and his contract is a bargain. I imagine we keep him.

Might be nothing, might be something but Lamarcus just started following Cuban in Twitter

Lamarcus would be a nice addition. But seems like the Spurs want a lot for him.

Maybe. This is hard to read from SA's part. Maybe the draft picks are something of a priority given their situation, Aldridge would fit as a large salary guy on an expiring contract - and a contract that would benefit the Mavs cap space next season. But I'm not sure who would be going out from the Mavs perspective. It depends on who they target with their MLE money in free agency. Lottery night should be a lot of fun. Only 6 days now.

The latest trade rumor recirculated now for the second time is Gallinari

https://thesmokingcuban.com/2020/11/14/dallas-mavericks-rumors-danilo-gallinari/ (actually it's a free Agency rumor)

However, Gallinari is worth more than the MLE. So he would have to want to be in Dallas bad enough to take the MLE, or there would have to be some sign-and-trade with OKC. This rumor probably has legs, but it's hard to see how this one turns out unless he really wants to be here.

Dallas seems interested in every player this off season.

Gallinari sounds like noise to me.

No way we look to add a (very talent) oft injured, no defense gunner unless we strike out on various other deals.

This summer is about defense. You keep the core of what made our offense so good and sprinkle in some defensive length on the wing and we step forward next year

Gallinari wont come to dallas. he is very connected with the fashion industry, and LA has a bigger chance at winning a championship than Dallas right now. LA is the place to be for him.

Either the Mavs are desperate to find anything, or they are just creating a lot of smoke and misinformation.

I suspect it is misinformation. Gives the impression they are in win now mode while they are really planning to just wait until next year.

I have a different take on Gallinari. I don't think he signs, but if he does... he's likely a net positive in the right lineup.

Let's take for a minute the standard rumor that he will take the MLE to play for a contender. If that's true, there's no reason why the Mavs can't trade for a defensive wing on draft night. You can have both. You don't have to have your defensive wing be a starter. There are a lot of options with the right lineup... especially if Kleber hasn't been traded away.

Hardaway and WCS both opt in on their contracts.

Wow. That's a tough call, my guy. Maybe if the Clippers take Delon Wright with the 18th pick for Lou Will? Or is that too much to ask?

I don’t really understand that trade if there’s any truth to it. 34 year old guard that couldn’t even stay disciplined enough to stay in the bubble.. Plus the move doesn’t help us with 2021 cap space. I’d rather roll the dice on whoever is available at 18 than trade it for Lemon Pepper Lou

Plus, he's all offense. He's rotation material for scoring. You'd have to have something else going on to fix the defense. You couldn't finish free agency without solving the defensive wing issue, so he's not a singular piece to trade #18. You probably need #18 to fix your biggest priorities.

I hope we get someone to play defense. But with the direction our team is going:

1. New lead asssistant Zach Gutherie is an offensive minded coach.
2. Our owner is very impatient and not willing to wait on draft picks to develop
3. The interest in Lou Williams and/or Buddy Hield

If you add everything up, it seems like Cuban is bent on bringing back the 2003 all offense Mavericks with Nash, Van Exel, Walker, Jamison and Dirk.

Got to be Wright out for Williams. Still seems unfavorable for #18.

Yeah this makes more sense. A Wright salary dump that goes with the pick. So the 2021 available cap space becomes bigger that way.

I think either may go down by tomorrow:
1. 18, 31 to Sactown for 12 Nesmith? Bey?, 55
2. Schroder to LA; Green to DAL; Wright, Jackson, 31 to OKC.
3. Curry, Hardaway, 18 for Horford, J-Rich, Thybulle, 22

Let's say 2-3 goes down, the Mavs may end up with:
C - KP - Horford / Boban
PF - Kleber / Powell / Broekhoff
SF - J-Rich / DFS
SG - Green / Thybulle
PG - Doncic / Brunson / Barea?

If Hardaway declines PO, then goes for FVV, Grant, AD (some combination of Powell, Kleber, Wright, Curry has to be moved for TE for that to happen) and so on instead. Hardaway opting out will make the case for a lineup of:

C - KP / Kleber / Boban / Fall?
PF - Grant / Powell / Broekhoff?
SF - Doncic / DFS
SG - Green / Josh Green at 18?
PG - FVV / Burke? / Brunson / Barea?

Reports say that Tillman Fertita is hell bent on reducing payroll.

Delon Wright for Eric Gordon works. 4 year contract of Gordon gets reduced to a 2 year deal for him.
