It's not an insult, you just often tend to defend the FO over criticism despite they maked very bad moves.

Btw they traded away a 1RP for a guy who never had a chance to stay here and say we would have picked Hardy with that pick is not a justification because we can trade that first for a useful player or for unload some bad contract and pick Hardy just like they did. Hardy was also at 37 so Im not so sure a team is going to take on salary to give up that pick or take on salary to get the pick.

Anyway a lot of good players were traded for a 1RP, we lost a chance for upgrade the roster and that's called a horrible move by a no exp FO for sure (just like McGee contract).
No doubt about that.

I try to live in reality and not slam the team over things that likely werent going to happen.

Alot of good players were traded for a FRP?

Bojan- No FRP Do we know the Jazz would have taken the same deal for Wood? Getting Kelly O might get them a better player than the Mavs pick.
Brogdon- 1 FRP Celtics tried to trade already
Huerter- 1 FRP Could go either way on wanting him or not
Grant- 1 FRP He was here in Detroit and he's an interesting guy who I dont think the Mavs were ever in play for
Oneale - 1 FRP Not moving the needle
Melton- 1 FRP Could go either way on wanting him or not
Wood- 1FRP Was a gamble in which some wanted to hand him 4/77

Seems like a big game of IFs on stating the Mavs could have done this, that, or the other and still gotten Hardy. Most teams in the league due their homework on what can/cant happen. Not sure what you mean by unload a bad contact and still pick Hardy? I mean the Mavs had to take on Holmes to get Omax which is usually how that works but I could be missing something. Is anyone going to take on $$$ for the 37 pick or take on money to give it up?

The reality is that we give up a FRP for a player who never had a chance because our coach never wanted him.
It's looks like FO and coaching staff don't work together and that's terrible for a franchise.
That was definitely a wasted pick. And it's always bad when it happens. No excuses.

The FRPs are the most valuable asset in this NBA (i'm totally agree that are overrated but that's not the point) and we should know more than the others because i always read in this forum posts like "we don't have assets, we don't have picks ecc ecc".
Obviously if we trade those for players with no future here :banghead:

It would have bene trade the pick with THJ for an expires for example but there was a lot of better moves than trade for a players who our coach not wanted.

Agree to disagree that there were better moves for a bunch of trash players and the 26th pick.
