I’ve read that he hasn’t pursued a buyout. So starting to seem unlikely. We sure could use his defense.

It is wired that no bought out of Noel, may be Noel not willing to give up some portion of salary, while DET won't let him leave for nothing, insist for some money back. Otherwise, cant figure out why Noel stay in a lottery team with no playing time and he is going to become a FA this summer.

Agreed. This is a guy that missed on a big contract in the past, so he’s probably not willing to lose any more money in his career even if it means no playoffs or much PT.

Will Barton and RJ Hampton are now FAs. Barton used to be quite productive up until last year

You know he’s still seriously regretting the decision to turn down that Mavs offer.

Go get a real 5 and keep Wood at the 4 duh .

We need to Keep Wood so we have a big that can score and then add a defensive 5 to that scenario so we avoid the need to score so much we can get by teams without a need to defend in order to win .

Epic first game

Solid vet with a lot of exp, if he shoots well he will play for sure.
A Bullock clone for the vet min.

Yeah this is the best way to describe him I think. A bullock clone. Which essentially means Bullock needs to be paid less too. So does Powell. Use the savings from that and get a real difference maker.

Obviously it's 1 game. Too early for judge.

Holiday and Bullock had the same carrer more or less, Reggie is a better player of course but he was a journeyman paid vet min for a lot of years before the Mavs contract.

Bullock is slighty overpaid, i've always said that (like 15M for DFS are too much), not for trashing him (or them) like someone could think.
Role players not lockdown defender who can only stand on the 3 point line waiting for a wide open 3 shine because Luka but they are what they are.

And they are not difficult to find (for a good FO of course  ).

I bet that after this post Holiday will shoot 1/60 from 3 and he will slipp out of rotation soon

I loved DFS, I was driven mad by his wide open misses, but he helped cover Luka's blow bys a lot on defense, and contested a lot of shots near the rim, even though his numbers don't show it, he also had the series of his life defensively against the Suns, but I agree, he was overpaid on that contract, I couldn't care less since I thought Brunson was sure thing to re-sign and then Nico would target a starting C, Brunson bolted and Nico signed McGee.
Bullock is paid 10/yr Holiday is really paid 7, he was just bought out, so they are paid pretty close given the fact Bullock is better.
I hope the lessons are learned, and Bullock contract (2 years + 1 partial guarantee), is much more flexible and desirable than keep handing 4 years above MLE contracts to role players.

Sign him. If (big if) he can capture the production he did 2 years ago in NY before his injuries, he's a solid big who could fill the role that McGee has failed to. 2 years ago the guy was pretty darn productive and at times was being played over Mitchell Robinson.

Cut McKinley Wright. I actually like the guy more then most here but I just don't see any room for him on a playoff roster when we already have Luka/Kyrie/Hardy/Frank all able to play PG. Also Green and Pinson who are both solid ball handlers too.

MWIV is 2 way, can't be used on Noel.
He's looking for new contract, he'll produce, I'd cut Morris.

Oh you're right. For some reason I thought they converted him.

Pinson or Morris would be the candidates. Most likely Morris. Kidd likes Frank way too much for it to be him.

Because of Donnie and Carlisle. I think he can be convinced that the old regime is gone. But truth be told, Nerlens is also a low IQ player. I think Kidd plays Powell over him.
