Can’t stop Jokic is the norm in the NBA right now. Not a single team can. But you can stop the 3 ball against DEN, to stand you a chance. Just as simple as that.

I know this has no effect on the game, but the Mavs fortunes seem to turnaround whenever I mute the ESPN/ABC broadcasts. Worked well in 2011 NBA Finals (Sorry JVG!)

You're absolutely right.
It's almost hilarious though because he looks so unathletic, doesn't even jump to get rebounds (and yet gets all of them), etc.
I mean he's 11/12 tonight and Lively hasn't been awful but simply ineffective against him.

When they go big, we go small seems to be our mantra. Not how the world works though.

The single biggest issue with this team is first quarter defense. They have constantly dug a huge hole and have had to spend the next three quarters digging out. This probably would have been a competitive game but you can’t give up 40 in the first quarter.

They flat out just simply are not running the P&R enough. And when they do they’re running this lazy ass **** where the ball handler just kind stands there and walks 3 steps left or right. Get the **** down hill.

I know Luka is big, but go put a body on someone. You're not getting that rebound under the rim like that.

Joker dominated tonight crazy efficient game... Mavs had zero answer for him.

Gordon, MPJ, and Jokic all almost had double digit rebounds. The Mavs gave up backbreaking threes at the end of the second and third quarters. The Mavs gave up 40 in the first quarter. That’s your game.

This was the single biggest problem. We couldn't get second chances and gave them a ridiculous amount of them. We could've easily won it with just a little more control on the boards.

And all three of those are at least 6'9/6'10 and up. We played 6'10 Powell as the biggest player with a bunch of smalls most of the game.

I don’t disagree. Like I said earlier, Holmes and Prosper are getting zero minutes against one of the tallest teams in the league. Trotting out players like Green, Curry, and THJ won’t cut it against Denver.

I watched Jokic and Gordon bully everyone, so I expected a loss, but I would've prefered more fight and effort, didn't watvh the 4th because LP was out, seems theu attempted a comeback.
At any rate, I'll take losing to great teams as long as you take care of business against average and bad teams, on to the next one...

Honestly if we get a rebounding big, we can actually be taken serious as contenders.
Lively has to step up his rebounding
Luka starting to shoot regular 3s with accuracy instead of spamming stepback 3s is going to be a game changer this year. I’ve been dying for Luka to be more accurate from 3
Luka and Grant have the same problem where the refs swallow whistles because they are large guys
Any future trades we do HAS to be for guys who are considered to be HIGH IQ.
Everytime I watch Hardy and Green I get irked. So much low IQ decisions. I really really enjoy players who do the right thing when the ball gets in their hands .
Don’t mind this loss. Nuggets are too good and they are just overall a big team all the way down the roster
