I like what I'm seeing. When Luka takes a rest - I can see Exum getting minutes. When Kyrie takes a rest - I can see Grimes/Hardy getting minutes. Marshall will get minutes for Klay and PJ Washington.

Area for improvement: Kleber. If we can get a situational player in his mold but with better defense and rebounding that would be idea. Jonathan Issac type? If not, he'll probably be returning next year which isnt the end of the world. We got salary and 2nd round draft picks to do it.

Internal progress: I personally think we need at least 3 point of attack offensive players that can also push the break. I think a big part of our success with this team depends on PJ Washington. Can he be that 3rd guy that pushes the break off the rebound, aggressively look for points going to the basket on offense, and be a set up guy as well? If he develops into that guy (along with working on his 3pt shot) we have 3 legit on ball creators who can get their own or set up our shooters. I think PJ is the key. I hope Kidd and the coaching staff have a growth mindset for PJ. I think everything else fits if we can get PJ to take on a bigger offensive role.

Side note: Anyone else think Nick Bertans is better than Maxi? Why not bring him back in this deal with Cha? He shoots the 3 at a highest percentage than Maxi. Plays with more energy and I would suspect is just as good or better defender. He also has 1 year left. I prefer him as a situational backup PF than Maxi.

Davis Bertans isn’t even on the same planet as Maxi even with Maxi’s flaws, decline, and injuries. Bertans is hypothetically a good shooter but has been average at best for years now, he’s owed 16 million this year so bye bye BAE.

And you’re a Mavs fan dude, you watched Bertans for a year and a half. Bertans, and this is not an exaggeration, is the worst defender in the entire league. I’m dead serious about this, he is 6’10” and worse than Trae Young, honestly, he’s worse on defense then if we let you suit up. That is a crazy statement considering that Maxi has continued to be a positive on the defensive end through the injuries and decline.

His consistency with bad takes is actually incredible. Look at his posts, he constantly calls Luka selfish and a ball hog, etc.. No point even responding anymore. He poped up last season out of nowhere and started trolling.

Also, Mavs are now 4M below 2nd Apron, they can't afford to take anymore salaries unless it's 1 vet min. That would still put them just slightly below 1st max.

And i'm also not sure anyone would take Maxi 1 : 1 to match salaries to make the deal work. I think it's safe to say Maxi stays and Nico will simply find another player for 3.9M vet min and Mavs off season will be done.

I take issue with you saying, ''im trolling" that's not fair. I'm giving my opinion like the next person here. I'll honestly say I'm a Kyrie fan first but Ive been rooting for Dallas since they played the heat in their first finals. I probably been watching Dallas since Jason Kidd was drafted by them. I'm a Texas guy. I grew up on Dirk, Josh Howard, Steve Nash, Nick Van X, Walt Williams, Devin Harris, Eduardo Najera. I was a rocket fan and I hated when we played Dallas (but appreciated their style from a far). I know basketball and i followed all the Texas teams. I'm not just some "troll"...I probably forgot more about basketball than more people know on here. Additionally, I can tell based on how people "talk" about basketball on here who can actually play the game. I probably would beat most people on here 1on1. Just saying.

With all that being said, when I say Luka be "ball hogging", i know i'm triggering some people but I really do believe this team will be better if Kyrie and possibly PJ had way more opportunities to push the break, attack on offense, and set others up on offense - without deferring to Luka. If you look at what Boston does well, its allow their big 3 and big 4 (with white at times) to make decisions on the court. PJ Washington (who at his age is our 3rd most gifted offensive player) has to have the "green light" to do some of those things I have spoke about...or we risk getting back into the playoffs and being a 2 man show and sometimes (because of the pace that doesn't benefit Kyrie at 6'2) w'ere 1 and a half man show because your only getting half of Kyrie b/c your handicapping him because we're over deferring to Luka. No one on the Celtics defer. Kyrie played with Lebron and didn't defer to him either really. Kyrie got to push the break and make plays....

The problem is too many people are looking at Luka like the great white hope (too busy kissing his arse) and no one is pointing out how his crazy usage / holding the ball is holding back Kyrie's game and the potential of PJ Washington. We need those guys at their best even with the new additions to win it all. Kyrie and PJ can also help this overall offense. Kyrie is deferring way too much (especially off the rebound/when he can push in the open court) and we'll never know what PJ can do if he's just summoned to the corner to shoot 3s like Reggie Bullock.

Its time to hold Luka accountable (many national media members) have pointed out how he just has the ball too much and it doesn't allow other guys on the team to get use to making decisions and using their talents. PJ has to get comfortable with attacking on offense, pushing the break, and setting his teammates. Like Boston, I rather have 3 or 4 guys who have the green light and feel comfortable doing these things than 1 or 2 and sometimes 1 and a half.

If the organization/ fans would stop treating Luka like Caitlin Clark this team would be a lot better.

Nico caved and gave them the 2031 2nd, he should've told them to go pound sand and tell Klay they are holding up the deal.

I wasn’t alive when Jason Kidd was drafted :O.

Luka does have the ball to much, Klay will help some but Dallas brought Klay in to combine and feed off of Luka.

Hardy‘s development is important for his creation. Marshall also creates for more than DJJ did.

Grimes, Klay, and Marshall all improve Dallas in the dribble, pass, and shoot categories which Dallas has not had in the past.

Two seconds for Klay and to get rid of Green, I'll take it. Hopefully Green learns some discipline and starts playing smarter to extend his career pass this contract. Good luck to him!
