What all that really means is Dallas may not control their picks in 28, 29, and 30, we do have picks in those years, just the worst of pick swaps.

Also their are too many teams interested in Davis for the Mavericks to settle for crap. They will get expiring, good young player /s and at least 2 FRPs.

Atlanta would have to come off that best of New Orleans and Milwaukee pick and a 2030 FRP.

Detroit would have to give up Ivey and Hollands along with matching salary and players of expiring contracts + at least 26 and 28 FRPs + 1 or 2 2nds because their 1sts aren't that valuable.

I don't see a potential deal with Toronto unless you bring in a 3rd team.

If Chicago were interested, Coby White and 26 and 28 FRPs + expiring would work

All those people talking about a bargain deal for AD, these are the BARGAIN deals that it would take. That excites the hell out of me. We finally get a reasonable amount in return for maybe the greatest Mavericks player ever.

Is Mitchell Robinson, Pacome Dadiet, and the Knicks 2026 1st round pick (or the Washington pick that turns into tow early second rounders) enough for PJ Washington?

Could add additional second round picks, but the 1st rounders are limited.

DLive surgery... You don't play around with any young big in the way of foot injuries. He should have been shut down last year with surgery. Training staff malpractice.

AD wanting an extension... people in Hell want ice water. No way anyone gives him an extension. He needs to come to grips that his last year on current deal will be seen as a huge expiring chip for someone.

Trading AD... I am glad to hear it's probably happening. If there's ANY way you can get Daniels from ATL, you do it. He's really versatile enough to be a starting PG with Kyrie or a starting SG with Nemb. Given his size and defense, he's perfect for both. I doubt ATL gives him up, though. If you can't land a like young talent, go for expiring and as many FRPs as possible.

Trading Klay and DLo... I would say that they've played up to their contracts and have value in the market.

Caleb Martin... again, relatively the worst trade Nico screwed us with. He needs to go. Way negative value which needs to be packaged with value to dump.

Don’t know how may of you guys live in Dallas or how many of you listen to the Ticket (“sports” radio show in Dallas) and they speculated that if Finley/Cuban/Ricardi trade AD at the trade deadline it could be a signal that Jason Kidd is going to be promoted to GM. No way would they be allowed to make a trade this big before hiring the real next GM. This trade would only be made if the new GM is already in Dallas.

So for everyone that wants AD traded right now or by the trade deadline just understand that might come with making Kidd the GM. If they were really going to bring in an outside GM they would wait for him to be hired before making such a huge trade.

You're right, i hope no one hears what Stein said about AD, that his trade value is apparently very low and that Mavs should indeed tank. Imagine the uproar if this leaks out to this forum

Well all jokes aside, Shams and Stein basically are saying the same thing. There are few suitors for AD but obviously it sounds like their offer won't be as high as Mavs would expect, so both can be true.

When the moment finally comes, we'll all see the outcome. So far we can only speculate and wish they get as much as they can in return. (If they indeed trade him).

Same goes for Klay, DLo and Gafford. Though i have no clue what will it take to move DLo, since in my opinion even with his low contract, he's a negative asset.

Yea I’m not holding out hopes of getting really anything for DLo. I am interested in what Gafford could bring though. If the Pacers really want Gafford I’m probably demanding Andrew Nembhard and a draft pick (at least a 2nd).

Andrew Nembhard has more value then Gaff and is almost certainly off the table to trade.

I do think there's could be legitimate talks of a Mathurin for Gaff trade though. IND likely cannot afford giving him the contract that he wants. Problematic part is that if we do, we're gonna be pushing way above the 2nd apron next season. I would be a very big fan of that swap though.

I agree A Nembhard has at least as much value as Gafford. Mavericks have to think of cap above all else. We don't have the team that can cost that much. 340 million to much to pay if you can't win a championship. We have to shed payroll and take back less expensive assets. Mathurin is out of our budget unless Indiana takes back maybe Klay also. Not sure why they would do that.

Ya, I was think Mathurin also.

Of AD's $54m, we'll need ~$30m in expiring. Nico left us no choice. DET as a trade partner for AD is looking better and better. Tobias, Levert, and Ivey are all expiring. ATL is also nice with a $30m expiring KP.

I think the expectation of return om Gafford are a bit high, doubt he fetches a 1st.
