Putting OMax in was a mistake, he's not ready and should spend more time developing, I'm fine with Lively making mistakes in pre-season, I'm fine with the offense looking worse with him (it was a huge reminder why Powell sticks around, just look at the multiple screening actions he does on the floor), he needs to learn, and learn by doing against real bigs is the best method.

I forgot about Holmes. He actually played pretty well and showed some of the things we need.

I think in general, having 2 rookies in the SL is a mistake. I'm fine with it for a few pre-season games but if that's what we roll out in the RS, there's gonna certainly be problems.

I like Holmes but keep in mind he is the same size as Prosper with the same WS.
I just dont see him as the answer to our frontcourt woes.

Mavs desperately need an upgrade at C and SF or PF (Grant plays PF but has the size of a SF...they need someone bigger)...the big men lineup of Powell,Holmes,Lively, Kleber doesn't scare anyone...every team that plays against the Mavs has a layup line to the basket...these Players can't protect the paint(Lively has potential but isn't ready yet) and are bad rebounders...It looks like the FO hasn't learned anything.. yeah, they upgraded the backcourt(it's better than last year), but that wasn't the problem,The frontcourt was...and that is basicaly the same as last year

Luka offense was actually (again) the best offense until others started hitting some shots. Don't forget that for several minutes he was actually the only one who could score.

And on top of it all, Kidd is still the coach with his predictable **** offense. But everything looked extra worse because of KAT and Gobert doing whatever they wanted under the rim.

The lack of offensive creativity on this team always drives me crazy. Most of it is Kidd but some of it is also on Luka. Everyone knows Luka can cook almost any defender 1v1. Well guess what? Lebron can do that too but he doesn't every possession, particularly in the 1st quarter. Do that in the 4th quarter. Not the 1st. It's the preseason too, experiment with other offensive sets.

Trust me mate, lack of offensive creativity is driving everyone crazy. I pointed that out soooo many times since Kokoskov left. Unfortunately Kidd is stuck on an island but he has a rescue raft in Doncic and now Kyrie to bail him out. But that's all it is to it, we've watched it for a long time now, dude has no idea how to make a team work.

Feels like role players have no real purpose on this team except for just being there, 2ndary ballhandlers or even the 3rd ballhandlers are often not used right. I have no clue what Kidd is trying to do with Exum so i'm willing to wait a bit more to see if anything really changed.
Last nights lineups were way too weird to properly judge anything yet. I think REAL MADRID game will be more serious than these two games now, so i hope we'll be able to have some sense what rotations will look like and how certain players will be used in real games. But for now it really looks like it's the same old, same old... live and die by the 3.

I hate this 3 after 3 after 3 offense from Mavs. I mean, yeah Luka creates insane amount of open shots but still.... at least make them at 40% clip if you're just going to go this route.

21% from 3 and 32%FG down by only 9. I guess defense did something good so far. Lively looked great and established his presence on defense.

Not that hard. They should play small ball as much as possible, there's no sense to play players that can't shoot or defend.
