wtf are you talking about? I never went after a single bad game for someone. I am all supportive in post-season and suggest other posters to talk trade ideas later, or telling them not to call fat-Luka stuff. Kyrie had single digit games recently but you can not find a negative post from me. This is playoffs, time to support the team. Prior to trade deadline, I was mainly critical of the our FO **** up last year which was catastrophic. Being so bad accidentally led to a blessing in lottery and we kept the pick. I mean getting Lively from #10 is just a great draft pick. On top of that this year FO made bargain signings. Two trades changed the scenery. I have been telling since the trade deadline, many teams and their fanbases will be banging their heads to the wall because they didn't go for that cheaply available PJ and especially Gafford. We spent only one pick for PJ while offloading Grant contract. We spent a pick exchange for Gafford. Even Bill Simmons started to talk about this lately. It was super cheap and great moves.

And you are being a crybaby for Gobert, and then trying to go over different subjects is just a weak try.

There is a reason Wolves perimeter players weren't able to stay in front of the Luka-Kyrie. Because when Gobert's player comes for the pick, Gobert goes under. And this is related with Gobert's skillset.
- None of Gobert's coach's in previous teams wanted Gobert to switch.
- Gobert blitzing is also take ages to recover, and interior defense/rebounding suffer a lot.

So Gobert tried to play under the screen. Steph Curry punishes this with 3s, and Luka is taking his guy to his back to take advantage of it like prime-CP3.

All in all Gobert is a MAX player, who is getting paid for his defense and rebounding. Gobert's offense is not good.
In playoffs, it's simple to take his best out of the game if you are good perimeter player. Just run a pick n roll. Brunson abused Gobert at Utah too. Tons of examples in last 10 years.

Stop being Gobert apologist. Also take a closer look into Lively and Gafford for next games. Lets see if you can see differences between them in offense and defense.

long winded BS about nothing ,you're pretty thin skinned about being a kyrie hater all year and getting called out about it after all your tirades about Kyrie over an 82 game regular season. You do realize Dallas ONLY PLAYED Minn 4 games before this playoff game, right . ,Then to be labeled a Gobert apologist is ignorant . After 82 games and 13 playoff games to mention a basketball observation about Gobert in the 1ST playoff game in this final and to be called a Gobert apologist by a Kyrie hater is so funny.....

When Minnesota sees McDaniels can't slow down Luka ,Edwards will want to guard him ...... Giving up 3's in height to Luka is not like guarding Murray who is the same height as Ant is.This is going to be Minnesota's problem all series.
Turning it around ....Ant Edwards will be guarded by a slam dunk champion,DJJ that he wont be able to out jump going to the basket. No one will shut down Ant but Derek Jones Jr is better defensively guarding Ant than anyone Denver had.][/quote]

Coach Nick says he heard someone on DAL bench yelling at Green to foul, I'm not sure.

I think we're the best defense in the NBA, because only someone like SGA can get through the wall we build around the rim and score on us there. We forced Wolves into 49 3's, they only took 40 2's. Luka and Kyrie shredded their defense.

Exum has been unplayable these POs for some reason. But yeah Green just felt like he's trying to do too much. Good defensive play followed by disoriented play on offense. All you gotta do is slow it down, wait and find Luka or Kyrie and get back to spotting up in the corner, simple.

Lively had +19/+26/+22/+2/+16/+18/-13
Gafford had -15/-25/-10/-5/-8/-8/-2
Great results just happen more often with Lively on the court.

Gafford has a relatively slower feet than Lively, and elite wing player can take advantage of that. However, Gafford can still give us quality 20 minutes, give some dunks, fight for offensively rebounding, set hard screen, that all can wear down the opposites players. Setting up the stage for Lively to close out every game.

We need both.
We play better with a real C on the court.

It took multiple injuries to Maxi for Kidd to just play Lively/Gafford. In the regular season he started Maxi and we lost 6 of 7, then Maxi got hurt, and he started Gafford and we won 16 of 18. I'm thinking he might have tried that against OKC as well to "go small" but had no option to. I do want Maxi back for depth and to play Power Forward not be our only big on the floor though.

I've been on the trade Green train for the past two years...but everybody keeps on saying he's Young, athletic ,a good defender...I'll give you that he's a good athlete, improved his corner 3's but his D is overrated, he's too small for a SF, poor ballhandler and has low BB IQ

Green is a good athlete for YMCA standard, nba standard? Not so much.

Who is a true good athlete then? Look at DJJ as a perfect example.

In RS, I have been saying DJJ >>>> Green, and some folks here were like NAH.

Classic all brawn, no basketball brain. AT this point, better to play Omax than Green. AT least let him learn through mistakes and see what he has. Zero excuse for a 4th year player to make these types of mistakes/plays

Yes i think Kidd has tried Maxi at the C for sure... I remember people cry about his injury. Funny.

However we miss his 10/15 minutes at the 4.
But no more at the C. please.

Green is too hyper to control his game on offense and defense and that makes him undisciplined.
About all that is good for is offensive rebounding and chasing loose balls which are the things that keep him in the rotation. Just like Timmy's occasional hot 3 point shooting.
Those two will cost us more games than they will save.

THJ + Green for Bruce Brown Jr. in the summer. Make it happen!

My bad, I looked at the stats wrong. Still didn't take a shot which is a good thing.

Yes, taking no shot is better than taking tons of well contested tough shots

The Wolves left the paint open and guarded the three. The Mavericks were able to dominate the paint because of this. The Mavericks outrebounded the Timberwolves 48-40, and held a 62-38 advantage on points in the paint. I am guessing the Wolves change their strategy in Game 2.

If you told me yesterday morning the Mavericks would go 6 for 25 from the 3 point line and get outscored 54-18 from threes, I would have thought the Mavs would have been blown out.

Beastmode Hardy + good refs

Spoiler:

Old lady Luka - plays where maybe unfairly, just feels like he isn't 100% focused or engaged, usually results in turnovers, things going the other way

Spoiler:

They really compared Edwards playmaking to Luka.

Spoiler:

Green really ruined an all time pass

It was a four point game with literally 2 seconds left lol I was screaming at my TV "NO FOUL" which is probably what Coach Nick heard from the bench. Fouling there was actually one the dumbest things I've seen in all of my life watching basketball.

I didn't realize 3 of the 4 WCF scoring games in the last 20 years were Dirk or Luka.
