Probably been said already, but I hope that if Dirk is hitting his shots tonight that he doesn't abandon this more aggressive, taking it to the paint game he's displayed in the first two games. The Blazers cannot stop him when he takes it in. I want him to continue to do what he has been doing even if his one-legged fadeaways are falling. Mix it up and he'll really be unstoppable.

I see the Blazers playing one on one defense for the most part.

They will run hard traps on Dirk-- Just like the Heat did in 2006.

Dirk must be REAL aggressive tonight. He has been everything I have hoped for so far... I need to see double digit free throw attempts again as well as 20 to 30 field goal opportunities.

Portland will come out fighting for its life.

Dallas must weather the storm.

I want to see more play from Brewer for his defense. More Stevenson as well.
Less Terry and Barea, although I would rather see Barea than Terry-- at least Barea can get to the rack and force turnovers,.

Terry cannot get 25+ minutes. Portland will destroy him tonight.

Dallas must make a statement tonight and put the rest of the league on notice.

Also, I would start Haywood tonight, actually. Then bring in Chandler and/or Mahimi.

This is to protect Chandler from early foul trouble.

I like the idea. Haywood is much better at defending Aldridge than Chandler.

Unfortunately, Rick Carlisle has it ingrained in his mind that Chandler is a physical defender that can bang down low with elite post scorers.

The good thing about this statistic is that Jet is only taking 10.2 FGA. Barea may be shooting poorly, but at least he penetrates and attacks the basket. Barea really does need to improve his perimeter jumper in this series though.

then, you can allow with 14.2FGA/36min with 21FG%?
I think 44FG% by 6"2 is enough FG%...? and +23 is positive number for me, unlike you.

sorry, my purpose is Mavs win. To see higher FG% by the team.
Not just to watch the attack the board by the smallest guy.

JJ at least distributes and gets people involved and every now and then he sells an offensive foul. So he actually has SOME use whereas the JET was really useless recently. Even though his stats look alright in this series it's watching the game that will tell you more about it.

2nd half of the last game which JJ played well in this seriese.

3Q
01:24 Stojakovic 3pt Shot: Missed (from JET)
00:54 Nowitzki Turnaround Fade Away shot: Made (19 PTS)
00:13 Barea Running Jump Shot: Missed

4Q
11:20 Nowitzki Driving Layup Shot: Missed
10:40 Barea Running Jump Shot: Made (2 PTS)
09:19 Barea Driving Jump shot: Missed Block: Aldridge (2 BLK)
08:51 Nowitzki Jump Shot: Made (22 PTS) Assist: Barea (4 AST)
08:25 Stojakovic 3pt Shot: Made (18 PTS) Assist: Nowitzki (4 AST)
07:34 Nowitzki Jump Shot: Missed
07:25 Barea Driving Bank shot: Made (6 PTS)

yeah, seemingly he gets involved a player.
and only HE can attack the board. and Mavs with JJ is -2. Yeah, he contributes more than JET(+23) for the win.

@ASIMO - I think Terry has been fine this series. He hasn't been torched on defense and he isn't chucking. Terry shooting 44% is a great number. I also agree with you that Barea is taking too many shots. I want him to continue to attack the paint, draw the attention of the Blazers help defenders and then pass to the open man.

Overall, the Mavs are playing good D, forcing turnovers, and have held PDX below 90 points both games.

I am not a huge fan of JET. But I think we should admit his contribution for the less FGA, higher productivity(+23) and pretty good team defence. (he is a good team defender at PG)

He is a good team player in this series. I think we should admit his decision as a Mavs fan.

I feel many fans are blaming him with blindless vision.

Blazers are making a more concerted effort to run their offense through Aldridge to start the game.
