its called having balls and he won a championship for us because of it. Something your pansy vince would be incapable of even if he had Michael Jordan next to him.

I am completely confused why Dallas wouldn't match a very reasonable contract for a Jason Terry showing no signs of decline.
I was strongly against bringing Terry back because I assumed he'd get 3yrs/30million. The offer he accepted from Boston was half that.
Another front office FAIL. Terry would have even been a valuable trade asset at 3yr/15mil.

So, we offered Jason Terry more money, but less years. I have no problem with us letting him go to Boston! He had some fantastic years in Dallas, it's time for us to move on, and start a new beginning.

We've been trying to get rid of him for too many season, dating back to Devin Harris' tenure on this team, yet he continued to be the 2nd best Mavericks throughout most of his time here. He helped lead us to 2 finals trips, and one championship, which is something we have NEVER had as a Dallas basketball franchise. Forget the fact he was undersized, his lack of defense, point guard skills or any of his shortcoming, the guy was a constant professional, a true leader and one of the best Dallas Mavericks through the 2000s.

This is certainly not the time to be bashing Jason Terry. He gave his all to Dallas and will be extremely missed by the organization.

This.

Thank, you PG01

I don't know what the future holds for the Mavericks, but if we do end up declining, how about let's do it with a little dignity. I'm upset, and I think the FO needs to get busy or earn the wrath of their fans, but let's not look like a bunch of wankers, ok? My issue is with the FO, not the players, at this point.

Well put SD but I think the FO needs to be respected as well. Cuban has put together a very competitive team for a decade and reached milestones that no other Mavs owner has. He has spent money and made many bold moves to get us to this point and Dirk has been the catalyst.
But I think there are huge challenges when the main piece and core of your success begins to age and FAs are not attracted to the area and situation.
Terry is part of that core and success but age is obviously catching up to us so he is the first to move on. Cuban now has to determine an exit strategy for Dirk to make it right for him and the best interest of this team.
I feel for Cuban because that has to be one of the toughest decisions that he will ever have to make.

much needed. very much needed indeed.

anyways, Terry will be missed. the dude is a complete baller.. and even though he gave some miserable nights.. he was a big part of a championship winning team, and just that makes him a legend in Dallas.

Terry has signed for 3-years, $16 million. That's basically what some of us projected after observing what others of his likeness make. The $5 million number was very accurate.

Ill always be thankfull for what Jet brought to the team but it was time to move on.

Yep those greener pastures which include the likes of Brandon Roy, Josh Howard, Thabeet, Pryzbilla...

Thabeet is off the table.

yeah thanks for the memories JET, but if we gave you that contract that you want we will regret it soon.
