I'd love to see Tyreke Evans in place of Mayo. The guy is the exact kind of play-maker that Dirk needs on this team. He's a slasher with the best of them, and can dish off the dribble. Unlike Mayo, he can create shots for himself and teammates and that's what we need here as a #2. Not sure what it will take to pry him away from Sacramento/Seattle, but he's worth strong consideration. I'd give him 5 years, 55 million (starting at 9.5-mill)
Jose Calderon makes so much sense at PG. He controls the game and would be a nice presence that we haven't had since Kidd. His defense is concerning, but we can make up for that in other areas. His offensive control is needed. If we could get him for a 3 years, 15-million contract (5-mill Per), that would be a solid deal.
For center, I'm just not sure where we turn. We need rebounding and defense and there's not much out there. This is the biggest question mark for the team.
I am liking what your saying about the off-season acquisitions. I'd like to see both Tyreke Evans and Jose Calderon on the Mavs, as I stated on the 2013 draft thread, to go along with Gorgui Dieng as our first round pick. That might be the "rebounding and defense" that you were talking about in your last point.
