Chet was 2nd overall, but OKC is just as dependent on him.
They screwed up last year, destroyed every asset the team had, and were left with capped out aging roster, they righted the ship this year, but clearly more work needs to be done.
I also think the regression of Josh Green and Hardy is on the players not the FO, they showed something last year, and disappeared this year.
They could easily got Ayton for very cheap, who's Luka's friend and has the same agent. And if they thought his salary is too much, they should get at least decent backup C. And knowing how small they are, they should get decent , not undersized, Pf too. And we're not talking only about this offseason, but few before this too. It's not normal that you can't play without defensive rookie C.
Josh and Hardy don't even matter much, because they're playing on position, where you have multiple options and 2 superstars. And then you have Grant on 4, only replacement Kleber, who is totally lost second season in a row and Lively with 0 replacements.
Completely agree with all of this 1,000%!!!
Just had the same rant on another board about the failure of Nico to fully address the frontcourt with so many question marks going into the season.
Knowing we had one 7 footer on the team who was a completely unknown rookie, an undersized and injury prone Maxi, an undersized and questionable Holmes, and Powell who has been known to get brutalized by every true center in the league for years was beyond irresponsible and reckless.
Then on top of it, they sign a vastly undersized starting PF, have a raw rookie, and sign an old man in Morris to address the PF position.
This whole frontcourt situation was an utter mess to begin with and it was completely irresponsible and reckless to think Powell and Morris were the main backup plans. Everyone in the world knew the team would have to rely heavily on Powell at some point of the season and it's hard for me to believe the trio of Nico/Cuban/Kidd could begin to think signing that guy was the right thing to do under the circumstances.
Powell should be situational at the very most, and here he is our starter again for God knows how long on a team that supposedly has inspirations to compete for a title.
Good Freakin Grief!!!!!!!!!!!
