Cooper did an excellent job securing the ball and not turning it over.

AD had a solid game but problem again was his 3 pt shooting going 0/4. He's now 3/12 or 25%. He's out there looking unconfident from 3 and constantly pump faking to go to his mid-range or drive instead of shooting the open 3s.

I know that some here hate numbers, but to show how disastrous big lineup was, in first half Lively - 70 netrtg, Flagg - 54, Klay - 48, PJ - 27 and AD - 16, because he played more time with the real Pg. Sure it's just one half, but playing half like that is a blowout loss against serious team. And you don't even need to look at numbers, to see how static offense in this lineup is. Flagg is a Pg only theoretically, this lineup is basically without Pg and the only real shooter is Klay, which great shooting days are long gone. D is nothing special either, because bigs are not exactly the most suited to guard perimeter and there's no POA defender. Hopefully Kidd stops with this experiment as soon as possible.

Ofc world is falling after 4 preseason games according to doomsayers :lol:

Anyway, it's still meaningless basketball, ofc this team is far from perfect but to me it's also normal that they need time to adapt to a new different style of basketball and yeah there will be some though moments in the RS too. I have my doubts too in regard of this team's construction, but I still want to give them more time before drawing any conclusion.

Flagg pg is just a (bad) preseason experiment to me but anyway he still didnt touch the ball that much last night, even when we were playing big with no guard on the floor.

Defense is still what concernes me even without considering the context of these games, even in today's NBA team can survive subpar 3pt shooting but defense has to be elite, imho AD/Coop/Klay should be the starting frontcourt to allow players to slot into their best positions and to make room for Max/Caleb, and that's something we should look to upgrade on the trade market.

Nembhard looks like a legit floor general, if we can hide him on defense, he could have a role on this team from the bench.

I can't understand why we have to do experiments who CLEARLY are failure if we are not in desperated mood... everybody in the world knew that lineup won't work.

And no world (or Sky) isn't falling but our situation is there.

People forgot that we are a supposed contender. I want trust in what Nico said.
I hope if the things will go bad someone will take his responsability. Right?

Anyway what i see in those 4 preseason game

-We are better with a PG and 1 big in the court (surprise!!!) but we die trying to prove that Street clothes/Doncic trade was good for us. That's very bad. Mostly with bigs without range, passing skills or ballhandling. A sure failure.

-street clothes played soft and away from the basket, he is just a normal player in those situation (3s and long 2s), he was very good around the basket. Plus fat and with eyeglasses. Not the better superstar right now.

-Flagg is special. But if Kidd thinks that he can play at the PG we will lose a lot of games and it's not compatible with our "win now mode).

-Start PJ from the bench to ride that stupid 2 bigs lineup is... Stupid too.

They brought in a coach exclusively to implement the Princeton offense. IMO, that is ideal given the lack of a true PG, lots of swing passes and cuts to the basket. It'll take time for all the players to be in a naturally comfortable level.

I really like Nemhardt and think he's going to contribute right away. Unless it's Luka posting him up, I think his D will be fine.

Yes you are probably right but force players to play a system is often a bad decision, you have to adapt your coaching style to the players. Not the opposite IMHO.

I repeat, mostly in a win now mode. it's stupid.

Imo Vincent just hit ridiculous shots, it wasn't because of the lack of defense. A lot of those were contested well. The guy looked like Steph Curry out there in the 1st quarter.

Vincent was obviously shooting incredibly, but if you look closer he had absolutely too much room, specifically after hitting first couple of shots and everyone knew he will continue to shoot. Flagg had the whole game problem with navigating screens.

Problem with playing that big lineup is bigs being far less agile chasing shorter players.
