However our 70M superstar is a C, if he can't beat a 20yo guy then he is the problem. No Lively. Lol.

I don't believe is the answer at center long-term but I hope he proves me wrong.

What do you mean with "contain"? Wemba probably will be a top5 at the of the season. He is a no match for everybody.
25+10+5+5blocks?

But like Bob said, he is very injury prone and I would be very concerned in the long term.

Lively too unfortunately for us, if he will not play at least 60 games this season we have to trade him.
Containing Wemby would be 20/10. That would be ideal in a WCF matchup. To think that our frontcourt is fine is baffling to me like bob thinks.

For your information, Mavs have bigs good enough to be champions, unfortunately they have near 0 on 1 and 2. And not enough on wings. And even when Kyrie comes back, it will still not be good enough. So yes C position is the least to be worried about.

Btw. There is nobody, who can adequately defend Wemby in his prime. He's not there yet. But Wemby alone is not enough for winning either, especially knowing that he will very difficulty stay healthy.

We will just disagree.

The center position is our biggest concern until we know we have a talent that can to some degree contain Wemby or Jokic. Wings will come and go, but not being able to semi contain Wemby/Jokic...well...that will cripple us.

Do you think Lively is a future all-star? First team defensive player?

I heard that Mavs drafted new LeBron this year. He should be a player to build around and Lively is for sure very good start. He's limited in offensive site and he will probably always be, but his defensive potential is for sure very high. The problem I see is creativity, which should be find outside our bigs and Flagg. The best way there would be trading AD and Kyrie, while they still have some value.

You're joking, right? Nobody is containing superstar in playoffs to 20/10. Superstars mostly get theirs, it's about containing others.

20/10 will be great in a WCF series but i think it's too much for Lively.

Our bigs are good. Probably very good... but we can play just with 1 center at the time so street clothes, Lively and Gafford are an expensive trio.

20/10 is laughable for a player like Wemby. Much worse players are having those numbers. **** Ayton is averaging 16/10.5 in playoffs. Nobody can contain Wemby to 20/10 in playoffs. It's like saying you need defender to contain Luka to 20/5/5. It can't be done.

It's easy for you to overthink. Containing a superstar talent has different meanings. I never said shutting Wemby or Jokic down.

No, you explicitly said containing means 20/10. There's no player, who will be able to do that to prime Wemby in a series, not even close, if Wemby becomes superstar of course. Maybe you can do that to Wemby with 1 leg. So yes, if you want that from your C, trade Lively immediately. Fortunately for 1st game, Wemby is long way away from his prime version.
