The problem is that Miami thinks that they would get real talent in a trade for Shaq. His monsterous contract is the issue. Nobody is going to give real talent for an old, out of shape, extremely overpaid player. The best Miami could get is some team to give them some CAP space by trading them expiring contracts. The other team may throw in something extra like a young unproven guy or a player that might fit some need of Miami but nobody would trade star players for the right to overpay Shaq for the next 3 years.
There is no way in hell the Mavs would give a solid young talent like Harris for Shaq. Now Diop would be a different story. Since Shaq would take that Center position slot on the Mavs and Diop would do the same for the Heat.
So KVH and Diop (and maybe another like Faz, Barea or Ager) is the best I would consider for Shaq.
