Well said. We are rooting for 1st round exit. We don't have enough piece. I hope the Mavs at least get the lottery pick. :banghead:

From a Suns fan, we wish Dirk a speedy recovering. I just cam imagine the Mavs not being in the playoffs. You guys better hope that Josh Howard and Jason Terry steps up along with Jason Kidd. quick question , how has Josh Howard been playing lately? I know that he hasn't been playing like he's capable.

Best of luck of course, unless they play my Suns.

We're going to need a huge offensive shakeup.

The defense has been great recently, held Boston and San Antonio to horrid shooting nights. (except down the stretch :-?)

I'd really like to see a system that showcases kidd, lots of player movement. Lots of hard cuts to the basket, lots of fastbreak offense.

Even using some stack/howard and even kidd post up offense. Letting them iso in the post (when there's a suitable mismatch). That with good strong cuts to the basket (all 3 of those guys can make the pass to the cutter, esp. kidd) with terry or lue spotting up.

Kidd needs to moved, the most frustrating thing is seeing him standing at the top of the key during a half court offense. He needs to get into seams, penetrate and disect the defense. It's a waste of talent to have him swinging the ball around the perimiter.

Previously the Kidd/Bass and Terry/Malik Allen pick and roll has worked with moderate success too. Allowing bass and malik to get open midrange shots has been a good option, especially if bass can use his jumpshot to make his defender over-play, letting him attack the basket hard.

It'll be interesting to see how the team responds.
Even more interesting to see how Avery responds.

An MRI comfirmed that Dallas Mavericks forward Dirk Nowitzki suffered a moderate high left ankle sprain and a mild left knee sprain during Sunday's loss to San Antonio.

No timetable has been set for Nowitzki's return.

The Mavericks, who are in seventh place in the Western Conference, have 12 games left in the regular season.

Nowitzki, a seven-time All-Star and the reigning NBA MVP, left Sunday's game at the 3:18 mark of the third quarter. He is currently walking in a protective boot without crutches.

Nowitzki leads the Mavericks in scoring (23.8 point per game) and rebounding (8.8).

In my opinion there's no reason Dirk should return to the Mavs this season.

The Mavs are paying Dirk $16.36 million this year. That's $2.4 million for the rest of the season, which is as much as many people make in their lifetime. If Dirk can come back and play without risking further injury, he ought to come back and play.

I'm not suggesting that they rush him back prematurely and injure him further, but why are these guys any different from the rest of us? If you're able to work, you work.

There's no one that wants Dirk back on the court more than Dirk himself. If there is any way he can be back, Dirk will assure that he will. That being said, if he is not back for the playoffs, you know it was more serious than any of us thought.

All signs point to Dirk coming back sooner than later. That's great news!

Dirk to play this weekend probably. Holistic medicine maybe?

Whatever does the trick as long as he doesn't hurt it worse coming back so soon...
If we could just close games with Luka, Kyrie, Green, Maxi, and Wood that'd be great...

Dirk was on the court tuesday for about 45 minutes. He moved ok, but still not 100%. He might get some playing time against GS tonight.
