I don't mind (if true) that Dallas is looking at Fultz, Ball, Ntilikina.

To me, if we land a top 4 pick, I'will pick
1. Markelle Fultz 6-4 PG
2. Josh Jackson 6-8 SG/SF
3. Dennis Smith 6-2 PG (may trade him to Sixers for their lottery pick, De'Aaron Fox, and right to Nerlens Noel)
4. Lonzo Ball 6-6 PG (will definitely trade him to Sixers for their lottery pick, De'Aaron Fox, and right to Nerlens Noel)

If we land a pick beyond the 4th one, I will trade him for proven veteran who's at 26-27 yo available:
1. Wes Matthews / Dwight Powell with the pick to Chicago for Jimmer Butler
2. Wes Matthews / Dwight Powell with the pick to Pistons for Andre Drummond
3. Wes Matthews / Dwight Powell with the pick to Chicago for DeMarcus Cousins

As for the second round pick, I'will pick a big or an energy guy (preferably at frontcourt).

Wes+Dwight and our pick won't land us any of these guys, unfortunately.

Entertaining the thought, however... I just have to outright say no to Andre Drummond.

I'm starting to get concerned that the Mavs, in getting that 8th seed, won't just drop to the 15th pick, but to the 17th because It's looking like two Eastern Conference teams that make the playoffs will have losing records. Depending how well the Mavs finish the season, they could catch those teams.
This may be a deep draft, but still slim pickins at the 17th pick. And to think we once dreamed drafting Fultz, Ball, Jackson or Smith Jr.

Yes, if the Mavericks make the playoffs, they will not be getting better through the draft. That is, unless there is a trade that happens.

And it is very disappointing, because this puts a "batman" further out of the Maverick's reach.

If we're picking in the 15-18 range I'm offering that pick to the Kings for WCS. If we can't find a future star it wouldn't be a bad idea to acquire a difference maker on the defensive end....and he is in the same age group as the rest of our young players.

I think Dallas needs to just be in a position to pick Markkanen. His fit is simple here. Take over for Dirk at stretch 4 when he retires. Carlisle can run the same system he has been successful with for years.

We would then need to pursue that Tyson type rebounding/defensive center.

If we fall too far to pick Markkanen then I'd like to take best player available with our pick and then do whatever it takes to get a late first round pick to draft Hartenstein. I definitely think Mavs need that big stretch 4 guy for Carlisle's system. I wouldn't want Barnes playing at the 4 all the time long term.

Tatum looks like he's gonna be a star, and the guy I wanted from the beginning (Josh Jackson) looks like we won't be able to get him without some lottery luck. This is an insane draft though. A great year to tank.

With What I see from these prospects i can say that we should definitely stay with a top 7 pick... That´s is the best range because you have Markelle Fultz, Lonzo Ball, Jayson Tatum, Josh Jackson, Dennis Smith, Jonathan Isaac and maybe Lauri Markkanen that have a star potential... Another thing is that the Mavs should not deal this pick because even after the top 7 you can still draft Frank Ntilikina, De'Aaron Fox, Malik Monk, Miles Bridges, Robert Williams, Ivan Rabb or Isaiah Hartenstein and the ideal thing to do is to add another 1st round pick or another secound round pick because guys like Bam Adebayo, Harry Giles , Justin Jackson , Caleb Swanigan, Luke Kennard , Grayson Allen can be steals...

I think that you don't even have to tank the hard way... This is a good year to stay in the top 10/12... Look to guys like Malik Monk, De'Aaron Fox and Frank Ntilikina that would be top 5 picks in last year draft are almost out of most mock draft's...

A Top 10 pick in this draft is good, but those top 5 guys (Fultz, Jackson, Smith, Isaac, Ball) all look like guys that can be perennial all stars... I would love for us to trade for another top 10 pick (Knicks) and be able to get a couple of these guys to build around Barnes with

If we had 2 lotery from this draft i would be more than satisfied with this season. if we could get Dennis Smith/Frank Ntilikina and Lauri Markkanen/Ivan Rabb that would be a hell of a draft...

The team needs to tank. We are only 3 back but we have to climb over 4 teams for the privilege of getting swept by Golden State. Would love to trade Williams and Bogut and would take a draft pick plus expiring contract for either one.

I'm watching the Duke game I didn't know that it was this early... Tatum looks like a star and he is a better prospect than what I saw from Ingram last year...

NC State will cost Dennis Smith some millions because he will definitely fall in draft boards and with other prospects rising, I think that he will be available even outside the top 5/6...
