Can we borrow Chris Paul for the next series... On the real, Portland played their butts off... much respect for that team.

To win the Lakers series we GOTTA win 1 of the first 2 games. But enjoy the series win. It doesn't happen all the time, enjoy.

If the ding dong Rangers with Cliff Lee can beat the yankees the Dallas Mavericks with Dirk Nowitzki can beat the Lakers!!!!

Yep, that's critical

Yea pretty terrible. 13 points, 3 rebounds,1 block, 75FG%, 100FT% in the 4th.

I wish he could be as good as Jet.

DIRK really sucked dick today with his 33 point, 11 rebound, 4 assist, 1 block, on 64.7FG% and 100FT%.

He's being honest.

And it's true-- the Lakers have no one who can guard him.

Dirk needs to be in absolute BEAST mode.

He can make the difference.

Good series guys, Portland fan here coming to congratulate you guys on the win. Much respect to the Mavs and the Mavs fanbase, the Mavs fans I have seen post on the Blazer board have mostly been very respectful and reasonable, thanks for that! Hope most of the Blazer fans have done the same in kind. BTW Kidd totally killed us this series, Dirk was Dirk, and Rick Carlisle does do some stupid things, but he's a heck of a lot better than Nate McMillan. Good luck against the Lakers, you're going to need it! I will at least be pulling for you as I have always hated them with a passion. See ya'll next year =).

So when our lineup of Kidd/JET/Marion/Dirk/Tyson are on the floor, that means Kidd will be guarding Artest?

Yeah, and when I said that he had 4 fouls, two of which were turnover/charges, he threw the ball right to Wallace for a 3rd turnover, gave up a chance to shoot 3 FTs just to miss an 18 foot clanker. Not like he was lighting it up on either end of the court except for the intentional fouls he was getting thanks to Kidd passing him the ball.

Well one was obvious bull as it was pretty evident that Camby was moving. So he shoudln't have had that amount of fouls but +3 points more.

bull. His offensive foul against Camby was hilarious. He should have had a chance for a three point play on that posession. Same for your "3 FTs play". It is just stupid to say that he could easily have gotten the foul called on Alridge.

What about his three consecutive field goals made at the beginning of the 4th? Blazers could have easily got within two if Dirk wouldn`t have scored.

The way ahonui06 is overrating Dirk is the same way you are underrating him.

Congrat's to the Mav's and their fans. Dallas could hit an open 3, Portland couldn't hit a wide open 3 if their life depended on it. Otherwise, I think these 2 teams are fairly even. Dallas collapsed on LMA daring the other Blazers to make a shot and it didn't happen the entire series. Dirk is just ridiculous with some of those shots he takes. I gotta wonder how many hours and/or shots he took doing those odd shots. Unless someone comes from behind, he's unstoppable. Frankly, I think LMA did a helluva job guarding him in the first 5 games of this series and the 4th quarter last night. If you look at Dirk's shooting percentage, I think that shows. I thought Camby killed us defensively last night, all night. Is it a coincidence that Dirk had a terrific shooting night last night when LMA guarded Chandler instead? Oh, and that offensive foul on Dirk in the 4th where Camby jumped in front of him... definite foul on Camby. The guy was still sliding his left foot over. I wasn't gonna argue the call at the time cuz DUH! hahahaha ... I wish the Mav's great success against the Lakers. I pretty much wish any team great success against the Lakers though, hahahaha. I do worry about the matchups. LA has a lot of length to both Dirk with. That will also keep Chandler off the boards more than the Blazers did, as well. Add Kobe to that mix and that spells trouble for Dallas. I hope Kidd, Terry, Peja and Dirk continue hitting their shots and Chandler continues to find a way to grab rebounds and stay outta foul trouble. Do that and you can take the Lakers. LA has been in an odd funk the past few weeks and I'm hoping they didn't come out of it last night against the Hornets. Rattle them and put em back in their funk. Then the wins will come a lot easier. Sometimes ya gotta do more than just play well to get a win against the Lakers, particularly in LA (watch out for them zebras). Good luck guys and thanks for a great series (both on the court and in the forums).

Congrats Mavs fans. I really like this team and would have been rooting for Dallas had they been matched up with someone else. Ill be rooting for you guys in the 2nd round. I would love to see a non-Laker team come out of the Wet.
