I don't think much is going to happen at this point. I think Willie gets the remaining MLE for next year. I'm fine with that.

Tim MacMahon: Wes Iwundu is headed to Dallas on a 2-year deal, per sources.

Re: Free Agency
Actually, there's still enough of the MLE to sign a center! And I agree with the above - probably WCS

Re: Free Agency
Really good value. How come none of these people want to play with Luka and KP or is it because we're too focused on 21 free agency in which we will colossaly fail as usual?
Still hoping for Ibaka

Getting all the big name players this year.
I assume the new roster goal is also to have everyone joining be 6'6 or under.

Looks like we got MKG's replacement in Iwundu.

Re: Free Agency
I think it's clear the Mavericks have a particular mission. Older centers who play largely in post are not part of this mission. This is a team that wants to move faster and play defense. And the bigs need to move and spread the floor if possible.
I think WCS could still fit here... or maybe Ersan Ilyasova. But the Mavs are looking for a particular profile, not a particular household name.
I'm happy to buy into it. I think this is how we'll compete in Western Conference - faster, and with more defense on the perimeter. And better 3-point shooters across the board.
Iwundu shoots it better than MKG, but we're talking about 10-12 minutes a night and a few DNP. Minimum guy, except this one's likely better than Justin Jackson.

The Magic defense was 5 points better per 100 possessions with Iwundu oon the floor, with a really good 104.6 defensive rating. He tops out 87th percentile in individual defense per Synergy, allowing just 36.7% shooting and forcing turnovers 11.6% of the time.

Lots of wings on the Mavs now. Maybe preparing for THJ and JRich to be sacrificed for cap room next year.

Re: Free Agency
I think the Magic are going cheap is why the let Iwundu go. He can handle the ball and plays defense. He had a sprain in preseason last year and he probably came back too soon. He started 1-19 from 3. When he got in shape he shot around 43% from 3 the rest of the year.

Re: Free Agency
Re-signed Burke, WCS
Traded away Curry, Wright, Jackson
Received: Richardson, Johnson, Bey
Signed: Iwundu
Drafted: Green, Terry
PG: Luka, Brunson, Burke
SG: Hardaway Jr., Terry, Iwundu
SF: Richardson, Finney-Smith, Green
PF: Porzingis, Kleber, Johnson
C Powell, Boban, WCS
I'm counting 15. Plus, you have to also add into the mix Bey, Hinton and Gillespie. I am betting Barea pulls an Avery Johnson and retires rather than being cut and becomes an player/assistant coach.

If we could just close games with Luka, Kyrie, Green, Maxi, and Wood that'd be great...

But u could only have 2 on 2 way right? And pretty sure Hinton got 1, so Gillespie didnt? Pretty sure I heard he got 2 way too or if I just expected it and didnt read it attentive enough

Down to Ibaka and Thompson and Whiteside for decent bigs now?

Maybe Cousins with the MLE. Higher risk but also higher reward.

Still hoping for Ibakahe would actually be the perfect 4/5 with KP.
Is Thompson’s second year guaranteed or is it a team option? That may be the reason the Mavs aren’t looking at some of these scrap heap centers. Just wait till the dust settles and sign the best one available to a very minimum contract.

Other than Terry at least they’re staying away from the short guards. Also by the end of this season the perimeter defense issue should be solved. Next off season go hard after an elite big and a shooter.

I think JRich is part of the Mavs plans for at least this season. Hard to imagine with the limited off season and training camp that THJ would be traded too. I think both will be part of THJ team until next off season. DFS I’m not so sure of.

I would switch Johnson and DFS.

Re: Free Agency
Bey and Hinton is on two way contract.
Gillespie sign training camp contract and does not count roster .
Barea have not resign yet .
