Portland starting to get ridiculous.

It wasn't a huge hit or anything, but I recall thinking WTF when I saw it during the game. It was totally unnecessary. Sure, Mills was providing a little pressure, but there were mere seconds left and the game was out of reach. Mills only got 53 seconds so i can't blame him for trying to pressure Barrea just a bit. I didn't think the hard screen was necessary, but if it lights a fire under the Blazers arses, then I'll come back and thank him for the inspiration!

It was a screen. That's all. Not a big deal.

I definitely wouldn't care if a Blazer lit up Barea on a screen. I would actually encourage it. Blazers really shouldn't be so soft when it comes to playing basketball. The game is played for 48 minutes and that includes when games are blowouts.

I don't believe in sportsmanship. It is a terrible concept. You play to win the game. It's not your fault the other team couldn't get the job done. I love it when teams run up the score. It shows a killer instinct and a dedication to winning.

Actually I do believe in sportsmanship a lot - you battle your opponent with all you got but in the end you shake hands and go back to normal. But that incident was simply a screen that didn't show up on Mills' radar so he ran into Cardinal. Nothing unsportsmanlike with that. Just a moment of not paying attention to his environment and his teammates not helping him out of that situation. You play hard until the final buzzer - that's what (especially in the playoffs) this game is about.
What is unsportsmanlike and ridiculous imho is to inflate this minor incident like this in the media and guys like Mills and Matthews basically declaring war to Cardinal.

Dallas should find a way to play Cardinal.

He is not afraid to knock anyone down.

He could act as the Mavs enforcer.

they were probably trying to send us a message saying "hey, we're gonna play you guys hard til the buzzer" and we simply responded the same way. What are you supposed to do when a team presses you full court? It's pretty common to screen those

Cardinal had the same amount of time. Don't blame him for setting the screen either. Maybe that will light a fire under the arses of all those Mavs who don't set such good screens.

Ridiculous. As has been said, what's he supposed to do? I'm a Blazers fan. I don't care about it at all. Don't want to get hit with a pick, then don't full court press a guy in a game where you have no chance at all. You aren't doing it to impress coach and win time next game. There is no reason for the press. Without the press, there wouldn't have been the pick. Set it up? Come on Patty. That's pathetic. Suck it up. And if you don't really want to play, don't play. If you're playing hard, expect others to.
