Goran? :)

You should just look at Luka's face to know how overweighted he's.

He still has ways to go before reaching his father

Mavs sign Jaquori McLauglin to a two-way deal.

Interesting player. 6'4" and can do a little of everything.

Looks like a poor man's Malcolm Brogdon. Should be worth a second look.

Honestly, looks more like Nico Harrison's illegitimate son

The Shanghai Sharks have better chance of landing Simmons than the Mavs :D

I thought Ellis was like 40ish. Seems like he's been around about as long as Dirk.
Didn't realize he is only 35.

Stephenson would be interesting if he is in shape. Could bring some much needed attitude and toughness to the team much like the other Stevenson guy that helped us win a championship.

Honestly can't see any of these guys making much difference.

Agreed. I'm not sure anyone is that desperate. The Mavs would be better off spending some coaching energy to see if McLaughlin, or one of this year's rookies can squeeze into the lineup.

I feel the quality of those players the Mavs' FO is supposedly looking at, or rather, their lack of quality... well, it's a good indication of the state of the Mavs' FO, i.e., lacking in quality too. Those are the kind of players you look at when you have 3 superstars on a team and are paying them all superstar salaries.

What is Dallas / Cuban / Nico trying to do? Build a contender around Luka or drive him to leave as soon as he can go after his next big dollar contract is signed? I could be mistaken but I think the best financial time for a player to force a move out is after 7 seasons have passed from the the time he was drafted. 3 years to go after this one.

How would any of this drive him to leave. We are talking about end of the roster players who won't see much time if any.

Is Trey Burke better than any of these guys???

I totally agree with your first sentence. That's just silly. This board has people who should never call themselves a "fan." Most of them sound like they've been victimized in a crime committed by Mark Cuban and his minions. I feel like I'm in a Philadelphia Eagles fan site.

In regards to the workout.... I just read an interesting perspective that while there is no roster spot on this team, it's possible that if any last minute trade were to happen on the Dragic front, Dallas would likely be one or two players short after making the move... so from that perspective, I at least understand the workout.

Monta Ellis: Last played in the league in 2017.... 4 years ago!
Lance Stephenson: Last played in the league in 2019... 2 years ago!
Isaiah Thomas: Has barely played any games or had a meaningful contract since 2018... 3 years ago!

Are any of these guys going to move any needle in any direction? If moving guys like Burke, the FO should be trying to bring players who can 1:) Help win now, or... 2) Have upward trajectories to form a long-term core with Luka, or... 3) Can be used in future trades to bring in better ones since Dallas has so few tradable assets. These guys check none of these 3 boxes.

Anyway, I have a very low opinion of the Dallas FO. TBH, I think they're among the worst three in the league... and may even be dead last right now, since the other horrible ones are starting to make better moves. So even if you believe otherwise and think these guys are "good additions"... there are 27 other teams with better/smarter FOs than the Dallas FO who passed on those guys for the last 2-4 years. I guess it makes sense that the Dallas FO would consider them then.

Who do you suggest they bring in that meet your requirements and the Mavs current salary situation?

I would be surprised if any of them are signed. I see this as the Mavs just kicking the tires. Just seeing if anything is there. Melo took a year or two off and was able to come back and contribute so you never know.

Joe Johnson deserves a look if we're seriously considering Lance or Monta.
