One of the best European point guards of all-time chimes in.

Jasikevicius: Doncic reads the game "abnormally" for his age. He sees things that can't be learned, these guys from college have no idea of what they are talking about and what Luka can do

There's an interview (in English) on the website it links to. Some people might not like it, but Sarunas says "NCAA is a joke."

There's an interview (in English) on the website it links to. Some people might not like it, but Sarunas says "NCAA is a joke."And he played 4 years in NCAA. There's many European players and coaches that are quite disappointed hearing how European basketball is being underrated in the US. I think the entire continent must be rooting for him now. He might be number one most supported Euro rookie of all time.
Luka is undoubtedly the most important Euro rookie in the last 25-30 years, basically since Drazen came to the NBA. His success or lack there of will determine how Americans look at Euro guards/wings for the next 20 years. If he does well, I expect there will be more perimeter Euro players picked in the lottery in the coming years. If he doesnt do well however, Euro players will be picked lower thus having harder time to make a name for themselves. I think Lukas success will not imact the Euro bigs, they have alreday proven that they can be top NBA players.
Many things really depend on how he perfroms but I hope he is not thinking that way. His job is to play as good as he can and help the team win, not worry about how his perfromances will affect future generations of Euros. Thats our job

Kentucky played a game against a very small Adriatic League club (Mega), and then so did Michigan this summer. Kentucky won, and Michigan lost. I watched both games, you can see them online. Michigan also lost a game to Joventut Badalona, which is one of (maybe the) worst team in the Spanish League.
In all honesty, from watching EuroLeague and European basketball in general, and knowing the level of Mega........I don't think either Kentucky or Michigan could win even a single game in a EuroLeague season.
Maybe, Kentucky could beat a team like Darussafaka or Budocnost at home once...but in most EuroLeague seasons you don't even have teams that level at all in EuroLeague.
The idea so many people have in USA that NCAA is equal or most say better than EuroLeague is just absolutely freaking absurd. The best NCAA teams would get wrecked by those big EuroLeague clubs.

NBA Scouts Are Worried About Luka Doncic's Shooting, But Should They Be?
I disagree with this statement though:
The way it's worded, it's implying that NBA is more physically demanding and I don't think that's true. I'd say pretty much all American players who have played in Europe are agreeing with me.
The rules directly and strongly affect physicality of the game. I sure miss the old days of NBA. And a few more punches thrown.

If his lack of endurance hurt him at the EuroLeague level, then it will certainly hamper him in the NBA.

Kobe Bryant thinks the officiating in today's NBA has made the game less physical than European basketball.

Re: Discuss New Maverick Luka Doncic
His main question mark is that when guarded by some long and mobile guy (6'6-6'8 height, w/ 7'0-7'3 wingspan), can he get by them or create enough space to get his shot off? He was not good against DeAndre Kane in Europe.
I can see him struggle a lot facing Andre Roberson, Paul George, Kevin Durant, and Kawhi Leonard. Guys like Rondae Hollis-Jefferson, Dante Exum, Trevor Ariza, OG Anunoby, or even Josh Jackson and Mikal Bridges may give him major problems.

Very true. But Luka was hyped and then picked to be in that 1%. So to question is fair.arkuo wrote:thr3ep01nte4 wrote:His main question mark is that when guarded by some long and mobile guy (6'6-6'8 height, w/ 7'0-7'3 wingspan), can he get by them or create enough space to get his shot off? Exactly.. to be. That's future tense. He has the potential to be in that 1%, but not yet, he's still a rookie with couple of years of hard work ahead of him to get into that 1%.

One of the main reasons I'm on Instagram is to follow some of the players.
Luka seems to love basketball, video games, and the Dallas Mavericks..lol

It's interesting that Kuzma was listed as 6'10'' before the draft. I think it's safe to say that Kuzma is closer to 6'10'' than he is to 6'8''.
Edit: just googled his Draft combine measurements: 6' 9.5''.
