I remember when KP got injured in that Bucks game. I felt horrible for him and the fans, went over to the Knicks board to try and say something nice, and I saw that many them were blaming Giannis for something something that didn't make any sense. If anything those two are friends since KP came down to Greece that summer to play streetball with Giannis and his brothers.

Now all of a sudden they blame KP for being too fragile.

I also remember Jabari coming back from his first ACL, he was a fkn beast. Leaner and way bouncier than before the injury, at some point he actually got stitches from hitting his head on the rim during a game. You want to be lean to avoid pressure on your ligaments, you just need the muscles around your knee to be strong. Which coincidentally are also the same muscles that make you jump. Won't surprise me at all if KP comes back more athletic if he does everything properly.

Knicks Fans bro.... They said DSJ was awful and Frank was better but now they say that DSJ is the best prospect they had since someone... Most of the Knicks fans are good but they have some of the worst fans in the entire realgm and reddit...

Just some clarifications:

1) No one seriously blamed Giannis for the injury. It was the spur of the moment reaction. Ask most people now and they won't blame Giannis for it.

2) KP is fragile, that's a fact. Whether that contributed to the ACL, who knows. But Jabari's body type is a whole lot different than KP's. KP's body mechanics are also a bit flawed and if you watch the games pre-injury, there were a lot of awkward drives and falls. Some of those mechanics clearly were a factor in the injury. I don't know about Jabari's situation specifically in terms of body mechanics, but that's what I saw with KP. Derrick Rose had the same problem too pre-ACL.

3) I doubt he comes back more athletic. If anything, he'll be smarter and perhaps take less risky drives to the paint.

I can't see a 7'3" guy coming off an ACL injury turning down $150M+ of guaranteed money. It'd be insanity. If he doesn't want to be in Dallas long-term then do it the normal NBA star way: accept your big deal when it's in front of you and then demand a trade in two years lol.

Still, his press conference answer yesterday was very awkward. He balked and stuttered when asked about his future and Cuban had to step in and save him. He had a second chance to answer and gave an ambiguous "we're on the same page" instead of something concrete.

He was nodding when Cuban said that he and Luka will be there for 20 years. So i guess it's all about sitting down first and talk out some things. It's hard to say anything concrete when u haven't even been in the city for more than 24h.
But he was giving the same answer all the time "i'm excited to be here, Dirk is my idol i want to learn from him and i am excited to play with Luka"...
So like Cuban said, if KP doesn't sign long term it will have to be a major 180 from their camp and something really drastic would have to happen. I think there is no chance KP turns down a long term deal.

It's interesting that I saw that exactly opposite.

Mavs just need to find a player with a similar skill set with a more mature head on their shoulders.

Robin Lopez was very good with KP his first season, this year Knicks were very hopeful about Noah Vonleh, unfortunately they never played together and Vonleh will probably be more expensive after this season. People were also saying that Randle could be good fit.
To make more euro squad - Sabonis? - but he will certainly be expensive.

you ideally want a big that's similar to KP that's a better rebounder and can switch and rotate.

KP doesn't want to be a 5 because he doesn't want to battle against the bigger guys. However, he's not that great defensively at the 4 and his biggest strength is neutralized when guarding stretch 4s on the perimeter

If I'm a GM I would actively avoid ANY players who have Rich Paul as their agent. In fact I would try to trade away players once they hire him as their agent.

Sorry, but I don't see a fit with Noel at all. If you play KP at 5, then you want 4 with 3pt shot, that is, I feel like Kleber fits better.

If you play him at 4, then you want to pair him with defensively minded 7footer who can block shots and rebound. KP + Robin Lopez was indeed nice.

Giannis was visibly pissed that KP was outplaying him that night. On the play where KP was injured it certainly looks like Giannis intentionally slid into KP's landing space. Otoh, I'm an anti-fan of how Giannis plays in terms of physical contact all around anyway - I think he's consistently reckless and the league condones it because he's a "star."

Robin Lopez is a solid defender but his rebounding is horrendous.

No, Noel can't bang bigger player in paint. Nor can Noel shoot on target regularly from long range. The level of defense provided are really weak. There're a lot more greater option than Noel. To be sure, I don't want Porzingis to play 5 to risk the knees and ankles again.

MAXI KLEBER

He's pretty much better at EVERYTHING than Noel. And like 5x more reliable.

Noel is a scrub. We need a PF next to KP, I like Randle.
