Luka traded to the Lakers

I’m not a Mavericks fan but it makes me sick really. I don’t think I’ll really ever be able to swallow how awful this is. Doing something so damaging will have a lasting impact on my respect for the product that is the NBA and leave my chronically feeling like I have a bad taste in my mouth.

There's got to be some **** going on behind the scenes. Strings were pulled to gift Luka to the Lakers. This needs to be investigated.

I hope there is major backlash against this.

This is something that would probably be leaked after a decade when all is said and done. Definitely not the type of news where everything gets unraveled the next week or so. Time will tell if there were some strings pulled behind the scenes to favor some side.

I went to church today morning hoping to walk out and come back with more peace and positivity, but I just cant.

Nets fan (KG/PP trade), CLippers fans (PG13 for SGA/picks) you can find comfort in knowing your team didnt do the worst trade in NBA history. Mine did.

I am as upset with Luka on his conditioning as probably any Mav fan, but this trade is nonsensical. Nico Harrison is an idiot. One pick and a broken-down AD for Luka Doncic? Look at some of the trade just in the last 3-4 years, and this is the return for a perrenial all NBA player?

I was born and raised in Maryland but liked the Mavs since 1990 since I wanted to go all things Dallas. I am very much considering just becoming a fan of the hometown Wizards now, thats how bad this trade is

I don’t care how anybody tries to spin this. Nobody would take a top 3 trade value guy in the league and only offer him to one team, mid season, with no warning, and trade him for what every single person knows is WAY WAY below his market value. And all that a few months after going to the finals.

This isn’t just a dumb move. It’s entirely illogical and doesn’t make any sense whatsoever.

There is 100% external factors at play here. Whether that’s the league putting pressure on, owners deliberately trying to tank a franchise, or someone calling in a very dodgy favour.

If it looks like bull and stinks like bull, it’s most probably bull.

I’ll say it again.

Luka may be fat or whatever and all those things.

But this trade legitimately needs to vetoed. It's just ridiculous since the trade value is much higher than this.

"Fine" to trade Luka. But at least get a return that "justifies" it. This is just surreal... and nonsensical.

If a player like Mikal Bridges brings 5 FRP some unprotected and 1 FRP swap , I would imagine younger Luka brings more than that

Same amount of picks at least and 2 or 3 young prospects at a minimum

This trade doesn’t make any sense,not for now even more so for the future , I genuinely feel sorry for Mavs fans

Can't say the same about Nico. The guy just burned all the good cred we have been building up the past few years by trading the franchise player the way he did. You do NOT blindside your franchise player the way he did.

3) why now? You could get way more in the offseason. CLE would have given you Mobley, a younger, cheaper and healthier version of AD
