How long do you think it will take for Kyrie to take personal leave of absence. Lol. Have fun with that

Kyrie wasn’t hated by his teammates, if you look at this from teammate standpoint, Kyrie plays it’s great, better chance to win , Kyrie sits home on zoom it’s next men up , opportunities for others to secure better payday
Kyrie splits the fan’s opinions like no other player that I know of , and I’m not a Kai hater
When he plays , he is joy to watch and he seems like a good teammate
All this other baggage it’s a rollercoaster of emotions ,random absences for family birthday party , or zoom conferences ,as a Mavs fan worse that can happen is if Cuban and Kyrie personalities clash , im not saying they will but it’s a strong possibility
Kyrie the basketball player , you got yourself a treat to watch along with Luka

I don't think a good person stomps on the symbol he played for...
Kyrie is a great talent, and Mavs couldn't afford a great talent without baggage, knowing this is what they could afford, they should let bygones be bygones, and focus on getting the best out of him, I expected the same for Dallas media, but was already disappointed.

Kyrie said it himself in his interview. He wants to be guided. That he needs guidance and coaching. This is where Kidd, Nico and Jason all have to come in to make this shite work.
Seems like Nets management just fed him to the media sharks in New York and left him there.
I guess this is where Cuban's family approach to the organization would help Kyrie. We know for a fact Cuban invites his guys often to his house to have dinner with his family. If you can surround and give a guy with anxiety issues that type of secure environment, then he feels "safer with less media noise.

But yeah, unless this thing goes tits up before June or Kyrie wants something else I'm certain the plan is to give him the contract he wants this summer.
And he wants to be pushed and guided and he wants to be "admired, not just tolerated".

Admired not just tolerated means its a superstar thing. Most superstars have egos and personas. Lebron has it, Luka has it, Kobe has it. This one is no different from Lebron branding himself as "King James" so he gets to be "the king". Lebron just does things more covertly via his team with Rich Paul etc. Kyrie on the other hand, need way better people around him instead of shamans, monks and potion salesmen.

I mean honestly I get his point. He's unambiguously a bonafide top 15 NBA player, the best ball handler in basketball etc. Yet the focus with him is always about any off court thing that could be identified as a scandal or slip-up. Ngl I did find it entertaining watching it from afar but realistically he absolutely has a point. What he does and the work he puts in to achieve it should be admired yet the focus in media capitol NYC is always on any potential distraction.

I can understand him, but he has to understand that the perception about him didn't come by itself. It's like Djokovic can't understand why he's not liked so much as Federer/Nadal.
Just show on the court how good you're and win a title with Luka and you will be admired again.

Shaq made a good point about this with his take. Him and Kobe were clashing most of the time, just two big personas. But he said they knew how to give and take. According to him, Kobe just let Shaq be himself for the first 3 quarters, and since he wasn't good with his free throws, he let Kobe take over the 4th quarter to close out the game.
Now IMO this is on Luka on how he will make this marriage work. Everyone and their grandmother knows this is his team. Kyrie will be Kyrie and that he comes with all the skills necessary to win. How he's able to give the ball up early in the shot clock and not play pick and roll all game is up to his adjustment. The guys that follow Luka since he was young say they've seen Luka have a willingness to play off the ball when necessary. So now we shall see.

Kyrie was always celebrated here but the relationship with the front office and ownership fell apart with the whole Instagram post and vaccine situation. I get it.
KD got hurt and we lost twice...he was asked if they will spiral like last year and he said no, this isn’t lead year like when harden quit. So, why take a shot at Harden for leaving and quitting but do it yourself?
As a fan, I will never deny his talent and he will likely drop 60 and break Dallas records but he isn’t loyal. He will soon learn he will be attacked in the media anywhere he goes. He’s being attacked because he literally said weeks ago, he wanted to re-sign and he couldn’t ever leave KD. He said the same in Boston. I wish he understood he’s disloyal.

Good to see Markieff likes the trade too. I still think the Mavs will benefit from his attitude.

Kyrie will be a good fit next to Luka in short term, he knows how to play with other superstars, but I don't see him sticking around as his sidekick long term. That's just not in his nature. It's not that he doesn't want to play with someone of that caliber, but Luka is the most ball dominant player in the league. It's different than playing with Durant for example. And Durant is not really an alpha. Here you have 2 alphas. But I do think it's worth the shot for the Mavs this season, this team can do some damage in the playoffs. Then if Kyrie wants to leave, you can do sign and trade.

Kyrie not sticking around is already an accepted outcome if in case that happens. The media is just nitpicking at this point. If it's not about Kyrie's antics, its about the Mavs overpaying. They just gotta write something so they need content.
But to go back to your point, having 2 alphas can work out like Kobe and Shaq. It's give and take as Shaq said in his take. As long as he gets at least two quarters where he eats, he doesnt mind Kobe taking the other 2 quarters especially the 4th. This all came from him not me.

It can work, but Kobe and Shaq were guard and a center, it's much different. Kobe was also younger than him, and when he got into his prime years, Shaq had to go. I've been following Kyrie in the last few years and I know his personality. He wants to be a protagonist on the team or atleast one of them. When he and KD got in Brooklyn, both of them were protagonists. Here in Dallas the project is built around Luka. He is the protagonist and he is much younger than Kyrie. So I just can't see Kyrie staying here long term, but that's nothing dramatic for you guys. You can do sign and trade or get someone in free agency to replace the value of Dinwiddie and Finney Smith. Kyrie is a worthy rental for sure.

Yeah and Kyrie and Luka is guard and forward. They dont play the same position on offense and they dont guard the same guys on defense.

Can Kief play? He is not so old...
