Ruz, Brand was awarded at 4 pm Friday. Kaman signed at about 5 pm Friday or shortly thereafter, as they had deliberately delayed that move until learning if their 2.1M bid on Brand would be enough (and require them to discard their exceptions).
That order makes logical sense.

BTW, how do we not put a minimum bid on Darko? I know we would have to pay at least the $3.67 mil over 2 years, but we need a backup center to replace Haywood and Darko at $2 mil/yr for 2 years is a steal.

In the immortal terminology of Randy Galloway, Darko is on the KP list. I can't see the Mavs having any interest. He's already been in the NBA for 8 years and is regressing. He's just not a guy who can play at the NBA level.

Darko was unclaimed. He will probably be back in Europe. Dumars really whiffed on that one. Toss in Gordon and Charlie V contracts, and he still has a job?

Can anyone update the cap state after OJ Mayo signed? Can we still add a player or 2? If so, at what cost? Will we retain Delonte West? I think we still need a backup PG.

We only have the 2.5 mil exception. So yeah, we can re-sign West (and should, since he can play PG contrary to our other smalls) and then we need to dump players in order to sign vetmins or whatever. I'd happily dump DoJo+Carter, those 2 can't do anything good for our team.

Convert municipal and agricultural waste to refined natural gas. Sell the refined natural gas to gas companies. Use the money to provide a monthly basic income to people that earn less than $28,000 a year.

My question is why is the HELL have they not renounced Maxwell, Walt, Newman, and Willis yet? Are they not trying clear every dollar of cap space possible? Am I missing something? Because to me to have those guys still taking up cap space seems beyond moronic.

It is now that the Kieth Van Horn rule is active. Until then, why do un-needed paperwork? You do it when you need the ap room. We have been over the cap almost every, if not every, year in the Cubsn era.

That list has drastically changed. They have no exceptions or extraneous cap holds anymore.

Can anyone update the payroll for next offseason? Assume OJ opt to stay, can we sign either center together with a borderline all-star next summer?

Are we still paying Willis and the gang or do they just count against the cap?

These Players are just official holds. Mavs would have to release any claim to them. Talk about chattel

As I said earlier, no they aren't.

There are no cap holds on any of those players.

I read on Shamsports that they are. What is your source?

My source is a personal knowledge of the CBA and of the Mavs' moves this summer. Shamsports is usually very good, but at the moment is out of date.

A huge shift in the Mavs' cap, holds, exceptions etc occurred when the Mavs claimed Brand via amnesty. As of Tuesday 7/24, their official Team Salary is around $60M, and includes 13 players under contract, one unused exception (room MLE), and no other holds or running exceptions.

catalyst, in order to obtain Brand via the amnesty waiver process, the Mavericks needed capspace. In order to generate that capspace, they had to renounce any further rights to those players. Thus, the Mavericks have no more capholds. It is a pretty simple process. Read cbafaq.com for further informations.

Shamsports still has the salary informations from last season on, it is not up-to-date.
