Yeah there's an idea, trade a 1st round pick for a broken down Chandler.

Sign no one long term, give away no picks and play our Rookies as much as possible.

Why would we want a broke down Tyson back? Especially at the cost of giving up a 1st round pick in a draft that is going to be the best in years.

That was a joke, Suns would pay us to take his contract. But Tyson is washed up, I'd rather start Hammons.

Oh ok, the sarcasm was lost on me. I agree though, I'd rather start Hammonds.

It's funny how things work. To me, this Howard deal is pretty good. A big discount from his max and only 3 years. Not a great risk of it being a burden. It would have basically been a perfect deal under that original scenario that most expected for the Mavs: Parsons + Howard.

So spot on. If my math is correct, that's a starting salary of $22-million for Dwight and $21-million for Parsons, totaling a guaranteed $30-million we have no, totaling $73. That's another $19-million to spend on Dirk, a backup PF (David Lee) and a starting PG (Deron William, Brandon Jennings or a trade). Oh well...

Dwight signed with Atlanta. Not Dallas. Also, Parsons signed with Memphis

Maybe we look at overseas option from here on. If unproven project like Harkless takes 12M, I'd rather pay Jan Vesely who's more proven with greater potential. I'm not a fan of the new cap. Mediocre players, scrubs and unproven players get paid. By the way, are we interested in hometown PG DJ Augustin? Denver's picked another PG in draft. I guess they'll move on from him. For center options, it seems to me that Al Harford and Pau Gasol are the only legitimate options available. Maybe we ask Larry Saunders if he's interested in nba return. It seems that the Mavs want to rebuild if the plan A backfires. If Dirk wants to win, we should help him. I think OKC is on the same page. They can't afford losing KD. They seem to be able to put up reasonable offer if Dirk wants to play with KD. If Dirk's gone, we'd better help Matthews find a playoff team as well.

Im just not ready for a tank season... The Mavs should look into signing Welsey Johnson. I believe he could be the next Aminu... but we should use him in a package trade for a superstar.

Soloman Hill, Thomas Robinson and Marvin Williams sound interesting as well. Wesley Johnson is fine. But I think we'd better ask Dirk first before we take either route.

Right. This was a "what if" scenario.

Maybe make offers to Horford, Wade and Stephenson? Free agent options running out quickly. Dallas is probably looking to pick up players via trade from teams looking to clear cap space.

You have to have assets to trade. The only Mavs assets are Anderson, Powell, and their 1st round pick. I wouldn't want to trade any of them right now.

Not really. You just need cap space and the willingness to take on salary just like how we picked up Zaza for a 2nd last year. You take a cheap Jeremy Evans for example and take some team's 12 million dollar player so that they can sign their preferred 2016 free agent target.
