Mavericks play good basketball. Stay healthy and enjoy some playoff success.
Problem is, you have to win now, there is no other way. Literally finals or even a championship or Nico better relocate to North Pole. Losing in 1st or 2nd round will be a total and complete disaster, specially the way this went down and what was said in that press conference when Nico was literally mocking the trade.
It is a bit complex.
Very few people believe this trade made the Mavs better. So will it be a disaster if the team loses early in the playoffs? Most people expect the Mavs to not be a serious threat and likely to lose 'early'.
We will have to see the context when we get there, to understand the sort of pressure that the Mavs/GM do get. For now, the "disaster" already happened... for whatever reason they didn't even let this current team play out the season.
I don't exactly understand many fan's mentality. We are all adults and rational beings... they can just get lost and not watch the Mavs. They don't have to perpetually cry about a trade or how bad it will be, etc.
Since the trade was quite lousy... just two good players back and a future pick... it's not like a new GM would have a lot of ability to change things and stuff. I hope the GM does get fired if the Mavs lose early, but the biggest damage is done already... so probably... the rational thing is to just try to enjoy the team and let Nico continue to cook and see where this takes us.
We cannot change the past. We can just move on or move out.
So the rational is to keep Nico as long as we can even when we already know he is not capable or what's even worse is he has malicious intent?
Sounds like adult mindset when it comes to a bad marriage to me.
